Question for you computer techs.
 

The FN & F8 keys on my Dell laptop have quit switching my screen over to my TV. My laptops are running Win XP Service Mod III. I have tried a couple of fixes I found on google which do not fix shit.

Anyone know of a quick fix for this problem.

Do the keys work in other applications? Have you tried a different FN key?

- reboot ( not restart )
- get lastest Bios ( A13 fixes that : Addressed Video display switch issue )

then, if still an issue, search for fixes ( drivers of video card, etc... )

Does the FN key work OK for other functions? Will the laptop work with an external keyboard (USB) plugged in?

Did you accidentally hit the F lock button?

Buy a new one

Can you do rollbacks on XP? - I can't remember...

If you can then try rolling back to the last time it worked - Might work.....

have you tried switcging it off and on ?
