Another word white people can't say

Phrase rather.
Whenever a celeb or someone semi important mentions BLM in any way other than talking about it in a positive way, there always seems to be a huge backlash for a day or two, suddenly everyone forgets and moves on with their pointless (important) lives.

Jerry Seinfeld Lands in Hot Water Over Black Lives Matter Tweet

I mean its not like he pulled a Kramer, which backlash was warranted.

BLM is a total farce.

The one thing nearly all of the "victims" have in common is they made the very poor decision to not follow simple police commands.

Comedians are turning into real pussies. For fuck's sake, if comedians now have to 'watch what they say' what in the fuck is going to happen to comedy?

I'm pretty sure a white person did say it :upsidedow

as to the 'backlash', it ceases to exist the moment you turn off your laptop/phone. I can't think of a single person in real life who cares about this complete non-issue, this ish only exists in the 'social media-24 hour news cycle with space to fill' feedback loop. don't buy in.

but yes, we must fight against this tragic erosion of paleface rights :1orglaugh

plenty of people have been fired or ruined their careers over "offensive" comments on twitter/facebook/etc... and by "offensive" I mean, calling it like it is...

so no, you can't say it unless you don't mind risking ruining your life over some bs comments on social media...

JesseQuinn 01-28-2017 08:04 AM

^^^I highly doubt this joke will ruin Seinfeld's career. I'm sure some peeps are surprised he's still alive though =)

there absolutely have been incidents where peeps have been fired for ish they posted on social media, you're 100% correct. like racist rants and verbally abusive behavior towards others.

I don't see any problem with that, freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences

it's a logical fallacy to equate those incidents with the particular bit of nonsense at (non)issue in this thread

just telling it like it is :winkwink:

isn't that contradictory? if there are dire consequences, is it really "freedom"? if I know my life will be ruined over speaking my mind, am I really "free" to do it? it seems my right to free speech is suppressed in this case? perhaps not directly by government, they would have locked me up for it, but by society, they will just ruin my life instead (which is only marginally better than getting thrown in jail)..

The freedom of speech for citizens guaranteed by the constitution only extends to you as a private citizen...any "commercial" expression can definitely have consequences and the Supreme Court has upheld that many times

nope. you are free to speak. your boss is free to react. just make sure your boss is GOP, AKA open minded, & your good to go.

the magic of diversity is that you can find your tribe of like minded people & bury yourself in it, like the dumb libs do.

:)

I'm not "free" to speak my mind, maybe in a strictest sense of the word I am, but if no rational person would ever do it because they would face dire consequences, is it really "freedom"?

this is kinda like discussing why labor laws might be needed... isn't an employee "free" to quit and seek employment elsewhere if they don't like working conditions/terms/etc? in a strict sense of the word "free" they are, but reality can be much different...

reality is that you aren't "free" to speak your mind, you need to stfu and avoid topics that could even remotely be considered "offensive" cause bad shit could happen if your boss/client/etc would find out...

likewise, you aren't really "free" to quit your job, as without labor laws in many cases you would be forced to stfu and put up with less than ideal working conditions...

So what you're sayings is...you hate black people? What's the point of making a thread about it?

What the fuck are you even talking about?

In which logic saying "if you are white you can not say anything bad about BLM" equates to hating black people?

:helpme:error

Seriously, wtf.

I don't know...kind of sounds like your thread is subtext for "I'm complaining about the blacks".

How is it not about that? By the way, I'm tired of political correctness also.
