Okay, that's not what they actually replied with, but they may as well have. So awesome. Why can't more companies have support like NationalNet?

National Net is top notch when it comes to tickets. For simple things it's usually done almost instantly.

Yep they are fast as fuck.

I like to send in tickets at 3 in the morning, just to check they're awake.

Threads like this always crack me up, as when you self-manage your server you can do stuff in 5 seconds which is way faster then 3 minutes.

Yes, but only in case you know how to do it ;)

True, but my tickets are for when I've broken something doing it myself. :)

And that is every case :) Only time when i need support when there is hardware need to be replaced, but one day even that will be possible to do it by remote :D

I got no time for managing my own servers. I'll let someone who really knows their stuff do it. Much easier and make much more sense. And National Net is awesome.

why would i waste my time on learning how to manage a server with the potential danger of screwing something up when i can have professionals handle it instead?

potentially i can also learn how to repair and maintain a 747 which would come handy if something breaks and my flight gets delayed - still i rather wait for the professionals

Normally i would agree but in this case, system administration is so easy once you figure it out, and money which can be saved is enormous, especially if you have tons of servers . Managed have sense only if you dont have any clue and you are too busy to spend some time to learn it .
Which is fine, after all i earned some money by selling server management thanks to clueless noobs :)
