BTCīs bounced to the highest itīs ever been

since being involved, purchasing BTCs and keeping track of the score, amazed to see the BTC rate at itīs highest itīs been at ?1057.07

thatīs $1114.52

has anyone made any substantial money in the past 2 or 3 month with the rise and fall

Mediamix 02-21-2017 05:23 AM

Didn't you say a month ago you thought that a bitcoin was one dollar?

Just a question..

Jel 02-21-2017 05:35 AM

of course it is, I sold my holdings about 2-3 weeks ago @ smth like $1016 for a measly 14% swing ><

No, because I don't have any spare cash for short term speculation. Even if I did, I don't think I would be trying short term speculation because unless you are a charting guru it is very very difficult to predict short term movements. Medium to long term I think Bitcoin could be a very good investment if governments don't try to interfere with it, but that is a substantial if. People say things like $10,000 per Bitcoin, or a million dollars per Bitcoin, which could happen, but I don't see how you're supposed to predict when.

CaptainHowdy 02-21-2017 05:42 AM

Bitcoin tends to do that ...

Barry-xlovecam 02-21-2017 05:46 AM

For most people Bitcoin is a curiosity not to be taken seriously.
Very low volume and no fundamental value.
The price could be $2,000 in a few years or its ownership outlawed and its black market value $50.

In my opinion, Bitcoin is a great invention, because it hinders money creation out of thin air by the financial elite, which is what happens at the moment, though most people don't understand or realise it.

I agree that moves by the privileged elites to attempt to outlaw it may be a risk. However, it is by design a decentralised currency, hosted by servers all around the world, and therefore may be able to resist attempts to restrict it.

indeed, it was about 5 or 6 weeks ago. So when I checked out how much they had risen, we decided to purchase some and get into the BTCīs. Now taking payment for items and live shows in BTC.

itīs pretty fun each morning checking out the rise and fall. Surprising only 7 weeks ago, they were about the same, just slightly lower, but only 4 weeks ago, theyīd gone down to 700ish, so a good time to buy was then!

Now if you sign up to coinbase, although, via card you can only buy 50? a week the first month and 100 the second month and so on, you could still keep watch with an easy to use stat graph :thumbsup

no judgment of the pro-btc crowd (to each their own) but I'm with you

if I wanted to gamble I'd do it at a table with a hot lady in my lap and tbh would rather have the lady sans table

I find cryptocurrency really interesting though. been talking to some peers about the risks to autonomy inherent to the move towards a cashless economy (as in, our money totally in the hands of unaccountable private interests) so sort of fresh in my mind.

eventually cc's could play an important role in resistance

just thinking out loud, not lining my hat with tin foil or anything

seems to be rising still, but topping out.

If itīs anything like end of december, it will crash again. But who knows.

You could sell now & buy again if it does crash, itīs gone up by 10% in last week! Most than you could make in a bank :thumbsup

tbh itīs just quite fun watching the market as itīs up and down so much!

And considering itīs rose 10% within the last week, thatīs more profit you can make than in your bank :thumbsup

I just sold some BTC a few minutes ago. Will wait for the whales to take profit and buy back in on the down low.

NakedWomenTime 02-21-2017 04:21 PM

If I had any Bitcoin, I would be holding all of it, for the eventual big win that I think is going to happen, and I mean a big win.

Anything short term is just pure speculation. Maybe a charting expert could have a strategy that makes money, but for most people it is just buying and selling on a whim and may or may not work out.

If I had some spare money, I would consider putting it in to Bitcoin, but not that much, because it is still fraught with risk. I would be interested in a way to earn in Bitcoin though, and then I would keep as much of it as I could.

Deej 02-21-2017 04:45 PM

It was higher a couple years ago at 1200 something.

We find out on 3/11 whether or not the SEC has approved a btc etf. If approved, it will go up and if not it will go down. While it's unlikely the etf will be approved btc has done really well lately. In the stock market, or at least when trading catalyst driven stocks, if prices rise before an impending announcement that's likely to be bad news, it's usually a pump and dump and if that's the case here, I think the potential upside is not enough to justify the downside.
