Google analytics, why sometimes they open all pages??
Hey everyone,
Question for whoever knows. Sometimes I will noticed a bit of a spike in real time users on Google Analytics. I'll go and check and when I sort by location I'll notice that there is a large number from the same city so I'll then check which pages they have open and it's like they open up every single page on the website at once. Anyone know what this is or means? Is it actually a person opening up every page or some sort of bot or spider thing? Not sure it would show up in analytics but anyways.. any ideas?? I don't know if it's a good or bad thing or nothing at all. Seems to happen once a day or two and almost always from a different location. Thanks :) |
I have over 20 tabs open right now. Many times i'll do that a lot. It's probably a real user who just has them open and will come back to it.

I don't think it's a real user they have literally open every link on a page including copyright info page and 2257 info page as well as many others, very unusual. |
It will be a bot. Check the IP address if you have it, it's more than likely Chinese or Russian, or if not then it will often resolve to an AWS IP which is obviously not a human visitor. If they bother you then the best thing is to block all Chinese or Russian address ranges in htaccess or in your firewall if you have access to it.

most bots are run from USA web servers.
