hows namesilo compared to namecheap?

Namecheap become a "mainstream" register like godaddy, and when something become mainstream that means it's bad. While i personally dont like namesilo, i have no problem recommending it.

I stopped using namecheap years ago since I got my own domain reseller account with NEO for local hosting company, but my base price for coms 8.78 + 1.75 for whois privacy + paypal fees (3-4%) when funding account is still a bit higher than namesilo's so I moved all my own domains (mostly adult) to namesilo because of free whois privacy.

So how I remember namecheap, to me namesilo is better, simple interface, you get what was advertised, no upsells, whois privacy by default free for life, they sell strictly domains only, it is what you see is what you get approach with no bullshit. No promo emails, even this sale I saw on some site, by googling so no promo emails at all.

There is a new their competitor on the sight porkbun.com a bit cheaper so they seem have to start this kind of promo. Good site to compare different registrar domcomp.com, that's where I found out about this promo.

Last year I had a problem with some copyrighted word in one of my domain, they were very transparent and friendly in the process.

namesilo is amazing! I have all 20+ domains there and with under $9 per domain and no BS looking for discount codes, it's great. I don't think I need any new domains but thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup

.com prices are being forced down by the new gTLD competition. I wonder if Verisign's contracted price with ICAAN still stands or the registrars are eating the difference?
