Linode from 5$/1GB, Digital Ocean also have good pricing, and you can choose different images.

linode or vultr, digital ocean right now is overpriced.

I tried digitalocean for a while, but I did a lot more effort (managing the server) for results similar to a hosting

Linode and vurt seem to me very similar to digitalocean

Mojo doesn't offer cheap $4.99/month plans that you currently use.

I moved my sites from NakedHosting (aka CH) to MojoHost about a month ago. Very satisfied, they have great support, and great server speed (Using their VPS SSD).

Now I think I really need a new server...

my Semi Dedicated Hosting on hawkhost, it occasionally decides to eat all the cpu and my sites are limited, losing about 50% of the visits...

it already happened some time ago, and it happened again yesterday, they only know how to say: contact the developer, try to disable the plug in, these are the services that use the cpu, check them out... the usual answers useless...

I am the developer of my websites, I wrote every single line of code, and I'm more than sure that my sites yesterday have not done anything special that could consume all of the cpu (normally the consumption is around 10%), I think that their server occasionally decides to start running some service that consumes cpu and since cpanel is stupid, it limits your sites.

Please suggested some other good servers that you have personally tried.

I know Digital Ocean have no problem as I asked them directly. I haven't checked with Linode and Vutlr but I have adult content over there.

You must use some poorly written scripts. I use their shared plan (Professional), have some wordpress sites with thousands of daily visitors there, they are fast and no downtimes.

+1 for Mojo! Couldn't be happier and Brad's team took care of the migration, etc. :2 cents:

the resources consumption has nothing to do with page views, there are installation that require at least 1GB RAM, so if you run even 1 website on a low cost plan of a shared host, it is possible to exceed the amount of resources that reserved for the account

Mojohost offers shared servers now; I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Same thing happened to me for years, then I installed heatshield and cloudflare and used cloudlfares page rules to cache every fucking thing it could without breaking the site functions. Fixed my problems. It's probably spammers attempting brute force or some shit.

And yeah, after years of hesitating I finally made the switch to mojohost. They go above and way beyond to make sure your shit is right. Set up my server exactly how I wanted (I'm very picky), took care of my migration from amerinoc (I tend to break shit) and they deal with all my tickets gracefully and enthusiastically (I'm a pain in the ass).

mojo is good but a bit expensive and OP is a cheap ass.

In a couple of weeks I have been obliged 2 times to buy a more expensive service.

The third time I got tired, I sent them to f**k yourself, I asked for backup and close all services.

After 2 days they gave me the link to a backup that weighs 4.7 GB in which however about 30 sites were missing.

When I pointed out the thing, this was their answer:

buahahaha, but what I can say "you deserve you deserve you deserve" yeap you deserve keep 30 or 20 or even 10 sites on that same hosting you deserve!!
