I read this the other day, and it makes sense really. It's only a matter of time before our military will be required to operate in space.

This is true.
I wish both parties would just stop the bullshit and be for America again. Stealing SCOTUS seats and stonewalling Obamacare tweaks for 8 years to prove you "have power" is destructive bullshit that only stunts Americas growth and increases animosity. :2 cents:

Our military already operates in space, but not personal just equipment. IMO that's not a good thing to expand military to space, because over all we've managed to keep space demilitarized aside from spy satellites..
Are we gonna end up with countries sending up fake satellites that shoot out projectiles meant to take out other countries satellites? Ramming things into them to disable them? I mean that's the kinda shit that will happen if we end up with arms races in space..

China and Russia have already militarized space for the last 5 years or so :2 cents:
If you think about it, we have no fast action way to respond to military space threats/actions without this new change do we? I might be missing something I dunno but this move seems like a good one to me.
This Chinese "anti satellite" weapon destroyed Russian satellite "debris" in 2013... so...
Russia has "killer satellites" that change orbit to destroy other satellites and stay intact to complete multiple missions.

I get that, but let's make it official.
And eventually we will have military staff in space.
