What do you do if someone attacks you with a knife?
This might sound like a silly question... Any of you know how to protect themselves from a knife attack? What's the best strategy you'd say? Except, you know, running or getting stabbed...
Thanks :) |
Shoot them...
|
Grab it away from them and stab them in the fucking face.

I think using a shirt/jacket is a common defense technique against a knife attack.

While we're on this subject, would you rather be shot or stabbed? Something about the thought of a knife going into my gut makes a little 'ol piece of lead traveling at 1200fps seem very appealing. Also, does it bother anyone else that TV and movie knife attacks seem very unrealistic, especially when the person dies instantly from a stab wound? Wouldn't there be a "hey stop stabbing me!?" then a bunch of screaming during the rest of the stabs and rolling around on the ground for 20 minutes bleeding to death, with lots of wheezing and coughing?

Find a heavy object and cave the attacker's skull in with it.
If you are fast enough, grab his wrist, point the knife away, pivot and slam your elbow into his windpipe as hard as you can -- still holding his wrist -- dig his eyeballs out with your fingers and make him eat them. When that all fails, you're are bleeding out on the pavement, realize you should have been carrying a hand gun -- if you survive you should move. Firing 3 times into the body mass usually does the trick. A 12ga shotgun at close range is better; #4 buckshot will do the most internal damage, 00 buckshot the most knock down and immediate kill -- however buckshot will penetrate drywall -- Look Honey -- I shot the kids! |
We once fended a drama queen wielding a knife by blocking him with a big table.
It had no choreography aesthetics, but it worked, and no one got hurt, and cops took him with the social services. We had no time to think or theorize it though. Whether you run, or disarm, you have to react. |
Number 1 rule is to run as fast as you can. Even trained people will have cuts all over their arms when defending against a knife attack.
|
I say throw your poo at them. Be prepared, and keep a fresh load in your pants at all times...

as for practical advise, run away and find a rock or a big metal pipe...if not be prepared to take a stab/cut in your hand whilst blocking the stab and try to deliver a super human elbow to his head with the other arm, if you land the elbow follow up immediately (less than 1 second) with another elbow to the head and repeat until the opponent drops, your only advantage is the temporary daze from a surprise elbow and it lasts for only a few seconds...season the attack with multiple kicks to the groin, try to lift the opponent off the ground with your kick to the groin, this is how hard you should kick...if/when the opponent falls follow up with jumping on his head until he stops moving... |
Dont be a hero.

Yes, even Special forces type guys who have been trained in knife fighting would tell you that. An option to leave? best option. What is the fight over? a parking space a verbal or keyboard insult? lol unless they are trying to stab your kids get the hell out of there. |

You have to be in the right range to neutralize a knife. Move in, not out.

you are talking about the skill of disarming an attacker. any skill is only learned and honed through live repetition, correction, feedback and more repetition... that means being attacked again and again at full speed in a "fight like" manner and attempting to disarm them with coaching on mistakes, correcting yourself and doing it again and again. you have developed no skill in disarming an attacker. |

In my practice when one guy threatened us with knife, one my friend do that
Runed and kick him in stomach - knife flying in one direction guy in other. But guy who threatened us was not professional because take a stupor on few seconds and fuck up, professional will kill you 100% even you start run away. Becouse if to throw a knife it give more damage than hiting. |
Guy with knife = do your best usain bolt game

I had my own Crocodile Dundee moment years ago here in Sydney when I was still Chefing and some pimp cunt pulled a knife on me wanting money, what the fuck didn't realise was under my arm was a 25cm chef knife and steel wrapped in dirty chefs jacket. I just started sharpening the knife on the steel. He sort of laughed and turned around to walk away so I threw my steel at him, hit the cunt in the back of the neck and took a chunk out, first I thought I had killed him but then he got up and started running, I must of chased him 2 miles heheh
stupid junkies. |
I spent years in a Dojo (still wishing to come back one day), and I totally agree with "crucifissio", when an option to leave is there, take it. This can apply to non knife armed conflicts as well.
