Cant stand the Dark Tower books. I'm working my way through the entire Stephen King audio book catalogue in chronological order. I've listened to every single one except the dark towers stuff... Tried them but cant stand them...

I'm almost 2 years total into the entire works of SK, and only have about 10 books left !

This looks like a possibility to create a serious of movies all based around the Dark Tower universe. I just hope that when they get to The Stand, that it will be the epic movie it deserves to be.

Maybe doable don't know, I haven't read the book(s).

Jumanji 2 looks like crap though, silly and just plain bad. Not gonna watch.

The Stand is filmed already and I don't see any reason to do a re-make, if the Hollywood crooks will be smart enough to not turn it into a full trash :2 cents:

This is going to bomb. I read the books and it doesn't feel anything like this crap.

All i have to say is that Idris Elba went from night club dj/rapper to epic actor. Love that guy. even in The Office, he was good.

They've done that before. (used a different race)

Black actors with british, Australian, etc. accents are big in America, they're immune from the racism & stereotypes because they don't have the American upbringing baggage for American viewers.

Sometimes a race is not something which can be changed at will. If it's a part of the story and if it's a part of character's nature. Would you like to watch a movie about Bruce Lee if he will be played by a white dude? Or how "The Lord Of The Rings" would look like if elves will be Africans, gnomes will be Asians and Orcs will be white Europeans?

"The Dark Tower" is a dark fantasy western, which was expired by "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" and Clint Eastwood, but not by Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Morgan Freeman or Natalie Portman. Those are good actors, but they are not western gunslingers.

You haven't watched much BBC then, those PC twats have already changed the race of historical and mythical characters and tried to add an out of place black guy in historical dramas. Strangely, they always swap out white characters and replace them with non-indigenous people - never the other way around.
