Why does my laptop not use the GPU for video editing?

I have an ASUS q534ux-bhi7t19 it uses an Intel 620 HD Controller and an Nvidia Geforce GTX 950m but when I go to "check gpu" under Vegas Pro it says no graphics card found. Is my laptop not capable of using the GPU for video editing instead relying on the CPU? But why?

sony vegas needs to add supoprt for NVENC, it currently supports only CUVENC so even if you install CUDA it still won't work :disgust

Thank you Bladewire. Do you use a different video editing software? I actually have vegas pro 14 which is no longer sony vegas.

I've used Adobe premiere & Sony Vegas, my editor does all my editing now and he uses Sony Vegas pro.

That explains it! Thank you very much. I have been slacking lately on my research I've been having problems finding exact solutions using google and bing and it's really slowed my progress. I appreciate your time!
