OK, Help a 'coins newbie out please.

Yes, I'm very late to the party but I'm going to have a go at this altcon malarkey. I've brought some Ethereum from Coinbase and I'm currently mining some minor coins via Minor Gate which seems to be going rather well. My next concern is safely keeping my coins offline, so my question is ... is there such thing as an offline app or program that organises or stores wallets for various coins in one place or do I need to keep every alt coins separate?

I ve tried miner gate last night. What is your computer hash rate ?

Oh, I see. Very low (double figures) but then I am trying it all out on a very old machine (one star on the benchmark test:1orglaugh, its also running on-board graphics) while simultaneously surfing and doing the odd bit of work . Yeah, I'm not a high rolling miner yet but I'm rather impressed at how little its disrupting the usage of this PC - i.e. not at all.

You can put them in Exodus to start, but by yourself a cold storage. I personally use the Nano Ledger S and can say it has worked flawlessly for me.

Whatever you do, get them the fuck off Coinbase ASAP. That's an exchange and should only be used for that purpose :2 cents:

I guess people would say you are too full on. Like your half page cock sucking sig that got reduced.
His ref link was pretty discreet and fitted in with the forum. Hell he even misspelled miner.

Mining is a waste of your time unless you have something that can do 10,000 kH/s or more.

And do that efficiently. Otherwise you are paying an extra $50 per month in electricity to make $5 in coins. Not a problem if they skyrocket in price. But you are going to be waiting a long time for them to be worth anything.

You honestly don't realise the difference do you? Even your complaint comes across as a spam post!

yeah, I get that. but I'm just intending to have the mining going on in the background running low while the PC is being used for other stuff. I'm not going to go down the route of buying a shitload of graphics cards running full cores 100% 24/7.
I'm just looking at mining a few of the minor coins, build a small portfolio and see if I can grow it on the markets.

If you're wanting to play with trading it would be much easier to buy in rather than mine. The latter will be a bit of fun, but it will probably take ages to build any useful volume. You're effectively trading the cost of electricity for coin, and if Bitcoin value continues falling (it's dropped about 20% from its peak a few days ago) you may end up starting off your coin trading with an effective net loss.

I get that, I've already brought into Ethereum. The miner is just hovering up some of the lesser known coins. I know at the moment this will proberbly be a loss but I'm only mining because I can! I wont be doing it for long - I'm doing it to learn really.
