MojoHost and the new UK Age Verification Law

I just signed up with MojoHost, because at InterNext we heard that MojoHost is teaming up with the premier one of the UK Age Verification Law services, to make it easier for websites to comply.

Works for me.

If you're thinking UK Age Verification is government oppression and suppression, just mull this over: No more wasted hits and bandwidth on Kids and Bots. Neither of which spend money, and one of which might be Pirating your content.

bns666 01-30-2018 02:25 PM

what does it have to do with hosting provider?

how is that verification technically regulated?

bns666 01-30-2018 02:27 PM

same shit like 10-15yrs ago with 2257 regulations, more sites ignored it than complied and what happened? nothing.

No matter, you have to comply with UK Age Verification, or be subject to massive fines.

You obviously were NOT at InterNext 2018, last week in Las Vegas, at the seminar with Murray Perkins, British Board of Film Classification.

Murray Perkins is Head of the Digital Economy Act at the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). He joined the BBFC as a Film and Video Examiner in 2000 and was Senior Examiner responsible for the 18 and R18 categories from 2005, regularly consulting with the Metropolitan police and Crown Prosecution Service on issues relating to pornography, and advising the UK's adult industry on regulations.

If you weren't there, you don't know.

There were reps from the half-dozen services that are implementing UK Age Verification checks. That is a script that runs on your sites. Having a host partner up with one of those services, cuts through the implementation learning curve. MojoHost

Absolutely incorrect.

The new government powers will apply to both free and paid-for adult websites, as well as websites that are hosted abroad. Obviously sites hosted abroad cannot be fined, but the UK will just put them on its banned list.

That's what I read.

Yes of course. British law operates in the United Kingdom only.

@NickBaer Well, dude, where are the official technical rules?

NickBaer 01-31-2018 03:02 PM

When you are through being in denial, you will go to the websites of the UK Age Verification sites, and learn.

They were all at InterNext 2018 last week in Las Vegas. I met with them all. And one was at at least two of the September shows.

If you're just talking about it now, albeit in denial, you are that many month late.
