cell service in europe

is it like the states where you can call any state in the US, in Europe? for instance can you guys all call each other without charges for long-distance, in the EU? and if so will that stop for England if they split?

Yes. I don't know. prolly not. :)

No, calling other EU countries is generally more expensive still.

However what was changed by the EU last year is that operators cannot charge you an extra fee anymore for using your phone abroad ("roaming charges").
So now you can travel anywhere within the EU, and calls/texting/internet will cost the same as if you were home. You don't have to worry about any extra fees.

This is pretty sweet, and in my opinion more important than regular international calls. (You can just use Skype for those.)

Rates for calls between EU countries are near the same as domestic calls. Also since summer 2017 there are no roaming fee's between EU countries.

Their billing system is fucking wonky, I have a Hungarian Iphone thru Vodafone. They keep bugging me with bullshit charges. As soon as you are 80% of your monthly allowance, you have to prepay the month or they shut you off. Good thing they have a deposit.

No. country is not a state. is a OTHER country, each of them has a different president, a different language, tax system and communication companies. I hope they teach about it in American schools.even a different currency (outside the euro area)

I'm in the UK and can make unlimited calls to anywhere in England, Scotland and Wales for free. Likewise I can send unlimited texts. I also get 3GB of Data for just £9.00 a month.

If I wanna call France or Spain or wherever (Even the USA) I'd pay for that, but have no idea how much cause Ive never done it...

Better check with the carrier and the plans. Some have free minutes for different EU zones.

I guess you do not understand 'is like', but I'll search the web and try and understand what a country with a president is okay? :thumbsup

I got a vodaphone chip while I was there. Worked amazingly well and had charge on it for like 30 days with no issue and I think I paid 20 euros. That was moving to 4 different countries. I think ON Friday to Sunday calls were free.
