We LOVE poutine !

pimpmaster9000 03-09-2018 04:13 PM

I live near the woods...there is a film production studio there...in the woods there is a mysterious half circle shaped underground bunker...its like a giant letter C ...there is a fence with barbed wire on top around the whole complex and there is no way in or out...the entry is obviously underground and leads to somewhere else in the woods...inside the complex there are lampposts, mowed lawns, about 20 telescopic security cameras, about 10 metal doors that are on the inside of the letter C...the outside of the letter C goes underground...it is about the size of a football field...it is super mysterious...

I have no idea what that is..

Edit: Poutine is a dish originating from the Canadian province of Quebec consisting of French fries and cheese curds topped with a brown gravy

Sounds disgusting.

You buy it from a shop in bottles though, right?
Then you transfer it to bags?

Why?

Bladewire 03-09-2018 04:31 PM

If you go out late at night to the golf course I live off of to see the stars and feel the ocean breeze, you will sometimes see a white owl that prays on the baby rabbits that come out to eat the grass at night.

Monarch Beach Golf Links Yep, part of the Monarch Beach Resort :thumbsup

The Monarch Bay Golf Club is part of it but it's a private club on the beach, not attached to the course.

Portland, among its other oddities, has a guy who calls himself the Unipiper and rides around town on a unicycle wearing a kilt and a Darth Vadar helmet while playing bagpipes that shoot fire in the air.

The city I live in is known for it's clay, and we have a company here called Gladding McBean. They make pottery, dishes, pipes, and roofing. They made the dishes most families in the US used from the 1950s to the 1990s. They also supply a lot of the terra cotta roofing so popular here in California. Gladding McBean also makes pipes that are used for water and sewage. One way or another if you live in the United States you have most likely used their products - or had your crap carried away in their products.

I've seen some of those used as location sets in a few movies :thumbsup

HairyChick 03-09-2018 08:39 PM

My town is known for murder in the 70's by a religious cult. One woman went down on the dead girl and the newspapers couldn't stop mentioning that. I don't remember it but researched it for a high school report. The female murderer is still in jail, forty-plus years later. Good behavior but they nailed her for the crime.

Awesome is being near the ocean, the private guarded multi-million dollar homes, mom & pop stores, memories of the old drive-in and eating lobster rolls on the beach that were caught an hour ago.

Bizarre is no chain supermarkets, one-lane highways (hours delay to get to the beach due to traffic), and more elderly retired people than yuppies.

Our city unofficially has the most boozer cruisers (ebikes) and seniors in scooter buggies per capita than any other.

How is it either awesome (only benefit that it is cheaper for consumer, the only reason why people buy milk in bags) or bizzare (pretty common in lots of countries in Europe, Asia, America) ?

Dunno.

I swear I'm not making this up - It sounds like I'm ripping it from Seinfield - But we have the "feats of clay" every year: https://www.bizjournals.com/sacramen...eturns-as.html

Melbourne, FL.. about 30 miles south of Cape Canaveral where the rockets launch...

Back in the 30s some of the big mob bosses used to hang out here because it was small enough town to not attract publicity but big enough to not be seen.

Jim Morrison from the Doors lived here as a kid.

Jim Rathman a race car driver won the Indy 500 and Chevy gave him a dealership here. In the 50s he gave astronauts brand new corvettes. He and his son are now in jail for laundering money for the mob..

marcop 03-10-2018 09:35 PM

Notorious gangster, Whitey Bulger, was captured here several years ago--he'd been hiding in plain sight, and had hundreds of thousands of dollars and weapons stashed in the walls of his apartment.

Most third world countries sell milk that way. Canada is no different certainly.

Paul Markham 03-11-2018 05:41 AM

People have been living here since the 12th century. Human habitation in this area goes back to the Stone Age.

MaDalton 03-11-2018 07:04 AM

It's friendly, safe, cheap and multi-cultural :P

Manfap 03-11-2018 08:04 AM

It's the city with the most Romanesque churches in all of Europe.

EddyTheDog 03-11-2018 08:12 AM

I am the only bizarre thing in my village - Well, that and the three headed devil dog that wanders the streets eating small children - We don't talk about that though...

I can understand your point :)... We order a large/huge one at the show every year, especially for foreigners attendees.

And you're right, at first people look at it and they're like, Ewww... but when they taste it, they're like, WoW !...

And despite everyone is saying, this has been invented in Quebec City, Not Drummondville nor Victoriaville :thumbsup
