Weren't dating sites basically Facebook before Facebook?

I always thought that they are the biggest dating site.

Personally I am hoping for this to be a bad decision for FB and ultimately backfire, leading to an end to that monstrosity of a site.

I'm not affiliated with dating sites, but I'm tired of FB being a monopoly on everything.
