Question for Mac Users and maybe PC users too (Text editing)

I'm wondering if there is a faster way to copy-paste code.

Imagine you have an HTML document that is maybe, 3000 lines long, and want to copy-paste 1000 of those lines from the current document into a new document.

If I click the top edge of what I want, hold the mouse and drag, it scrolls through every line pretty slowly. It can take 20 or 30 seconds sometimes.

Of course I can CTRL-A to select the whole document but that's useless if I only want a large selection of it.

Is there a better method?

Why do you have an HTML document 3000 lines long?

I write long love letters to the girl who plays Quake on Agents of Shield, and nice-it-up in HTML. But I swear if she doesn't answer me this time I'm going to sell my house and marry a goddam goat.
