Can Tor browser be used instead of a VPN

Hi guys,

I just woke up with that question in mind.
I know nothing about the darkweb but curiousity made me install Tor browser months ago.
I browsed on normal sites with it, just like I usually do with Firefox, and it works well, without bug or delay.

So I'm wondering, instead of paying for a VPN, can I just use Tor browser ?

I have no idea if that's a stupid question or not, lol.

Some sites are banned in where I am now. I want to access these sites without taking the risk to have my internet connection blocked by I don't know who (the government? the ISP?).
There is not clear list of banned sites but I tried once to see if it works and it didn't. My ISP warned me with a big red message written in a language I couldn't even read :( want to avoid that.

In the case of a vpn, some providers are smart to obfuscate the packets shared to make an impression that you are doing some regular activity on the vpn. But tor makes the isps suspicious a bit i assume.

Personaly I use vpn becuase FireFox doesn't always cope with blocking

vpn is virtual tunneling protocol, where your computer connects to certain network and you can use any browser or network app throgh that.

tor browser is just a browser with privacy.

Use VPN, Tor in my experience can be slow as heck at times.

Use both if you want some actual security.. Here is what I use: https://protonvpn.com/

VPN can be blocked easily , Tor uses different nodes around the world , technically Tor is more secure and harder to be traced.

Tor can replace VPN. You will be able to access any sites without restrictions. VPN may have limitations.

Using TOR with the regular web is fine for browsing, but if you're logging into services or filling out forms it's not a good idea...

Whichever exit node your data flows through can easily intercept all data. In some cases, evil TOR exit nodes exist for the sole purpose of data interception.

TOR communications are only encrypted and private when communicating with .onion domains.

TOR browsing on regular web = great for anonymity, horrible for data privacy.

These two services can be used together, creating an additional level of protection. However, in this case, the work of the service is very slow due to the method used by Tor to randomly transfer connections through several servers around the world. However, it is necessary to use VPN: this allows you to encrypt your data in order to protect it. It is equally important to use a VPN service provider that does not save data logs.

yes you can use TOR instead of VPN., but be careful while entering username and passwords with TOR as mentioned above, exit nodes can sniff your data.
but do you know that opera browser has built in free VPN.
