I feel like I'm a reasonably smart person, despite all evidence to the contrary, but damned if I know how to solve this shit. A whole lot of black people really really hate white people, like to a degree that no white person can imagine. Then there are black people who have absolutely no hatred of white people, and even like them. But most black people, at least based on what I see, have a hard time accepting the level of recent and present prejudice against them that is embedded in all layers of society.

If you go the rainbows and love route, you lose the people with legitimate concerns. If you go the reparations and guilt route, you activate people who are just obsessed assholes.

Maybe it just takes time, who knows.

I live in New Jersey. People from Philly and New York can tell I'm from Jersey. - and Vise Versa just by the way we talk. Go out to Vegas and talk, they automatically think you're from New York.

To the low income (any race) living in subsidized housing, to them, that is a normal life.

To the high tax bracket, owning and living in affluent communities, attending private schools is considered their normal life.

Something as simple as sidewalk pedestrian passing here in Princeton. - You can easily tell who belongs and who doesn't. - Same applies to people of privilege walking in a less affluent part of town - Stick out like a sore thumb.

Many days I was in New York with my wife. The tourists are beyond obvious.
