2 million pissed off federal employees need to vote in November, right before their payraise was scheduled.

"The news from the Financial Markets is even better than anticipated," Trump tweeted just hours before announcing the pay freeze. "More good news is coming!"

For most it wasn't really a raise, it was just going to be a cost of living increase. With inflation predicted to be about 2% next year (more or less depending on your state) it actually will end up being a pay cut.

exactly.

moreover, i didn't see redhats complaining about bloat when trump increased Pentagon spending billions of dollars and continues to do so.

I don't see redhats complaining that trump's bloated golf bill is now $77,000,000 and growing weekly.

My buddy that works at the post office said something to the effect of, "Trump can't stop talking about how great the economy is doing and how great the stock market is doing. He tells us how great things are going with trade and these things are all going so well we can just give millions in subsidies to farmers who were hurt by his tariffs and trillions in tax cuts to the wealthy but apparently it isn't good enough for me to get a cost of living raise."

Brilliant.

Outside of the Department of Defense, the largest government agency is the VA - You know, the one government agency Trump promised to fix when he was campaigning. Let's just set aside the fact that he has done nothing at all with the VA since elected.... Are you saying we should cut the staff at the VA? Should we cut them by 20%? The VA seems to have issues with the 200k employees they have, but you want to cut them? LOL. #winning.

Homeland Security seems to be the next largest agency.... This isn't important at all. Homeland Security includes Border Patrol, FEMA, Immigration, Customs, Secret Service, the US Coast Guard, the "Domestic Nuclear Detection Agency" and a dozen others....

Then you have the Department of Treasury, Social Security, USPS.....

These are seriously important government functions.... but no problem, let's not give them raises and let's cut their staff.

Whatever.

I've never worn a "red hat". But I did vote for Trump.
And I don't agree on every issue with anyone in office or running for office.

I think the military is WAY overbloated and unnecessary to spend all that money on. President Eisenhower himself warned the country against the industrial military complex. I disagree with Trump on the military, and I have never agreed with a "Wall"...including when Congress voted it into existence in 2006 with all the Democrats voting FOR it (the Democrat Party used to stand for the working man).

It used to be that in times of peace, we didn't mortgage the future by spending fortunes on the military. The way things used to work was that the govt. chose between what was called "Guns Or Butter".
Meaning that in times of peace, the govt. would spend money on social issues.

But now? It's "Guns AND Butter" all the time. Which is why we have gotten so far in debt over the past 60 years.

Anyway...I get it. People that hate Trump, hate everything he does.
Just keep ignoring the economy and the affect it is having on families being able to make a good living again.
That's what I voted for. Trump knows what he's doing on the economy and trade.

dyna mo 08-31-2018 07:55 AM

and you can keep ignoring the fact that I've acknowledged many times that the economy is doing well, in part due to the trump effect. I know I am kicking ass in business, due to my own hard work.

you can also ignore the fact that if the economy is doing so great, then trump just lied like the shitstained liar he is about it to justify taking back a promised cost of living raise to 2 million of those families you mentioned.

that's who you voted for.

We have some common ground. I also believe that the government is extremely bloated and it should cut back on spending.

However, I think the real problem here isn't the fact that Trump is trying to cut expenses. Its the hypocrisy that he would give all of his rich friends massive tax breaks, effectively making them richer, while cutting money to the lower classes.

Keep in mind that by not giving government employees a raise, he is not only freezing their salaries, he is lowering it.

Inflation this year means that the cost of living went up by 2.4%. That means that the dollar amount each employee makes is worth less to them. Not giving them a raise is effectively giving them a pay cut.

I'm not saying this because I'm anti-trump. If any administration did this, the resulting fury would still be the same. However, having Trump acting like a hypocrite while doing it is just compounding the issue.

Trump hasn't managed to get a trade deal with a single country. We are now paying more for pretty much all imported products. Exports are now down because other countries have slapped tariffs on our products. Much of these exports specifically in the food industry will never be regained. This has cost thousands of jobs already.

Added to this, trump tax cuts will add 2 trillion dollars to our deficit yet you think he knows what hes doing..

Are you fucking stupid? Dont answer I already know..

You're reading opinion pieces there Tony with cherry picked b.s. numbers.

Here's something for you to think about:
We are all SUPPOSED to be in the online Adult Industry. Most of the people in this thread are not. But just pretend that they are.

I own a paysite. I actually shoot PORN for a living.
Inflation? Cry me a river.

It's almost non-existent compared to past decades. But just pretend that it's a real issue...
Paysite owners haven't been able to raise prices since the 1990's!!!! We don't get a "raise". Matter of fact, most of them are LOWERING their prices.

I don't see any of my adult industry brethren crying tears for me.

And benefits??? Govt. employees are loaded with them.

Me? I have to pay for everything. Health insurance...I pay my own. Taxes? I have to write a check to the govt. because I don't have an employer to pull it out of my paycheck each week AND pay matching funds to my Social Security payment.
Retirement? What the fuck is that. There is no retirement fund and "pension" for people in the adult industry.

But my main point is...the founding fathers never wanted ANY of this bullshit. You want to "Serve" your country? Then do so. Being on the public teat your whole life, having all your healthcare paid for by taxpayers, and then retiring with a nice pension until you die...all at taxpayer expense...is not "serving" anyone but yourself.

I do think the Federal Govt. needs to be cut down to bare bones. We don't need 10,000 assistants to the 1000 assistants that assist the 100 staff members of every congressman. lol

Seems like we just keep adding on to the bureaucracy. Just look at the TSA. The Federal Govt. took the opportunity of 9-11 to create another giant bureaucracy and taxpayer expenditure. So now we pay for the "privilege" of being searched like criminals to get on a glorified flying bus. lol

Our country wasn't founded to have a Federal Govt. this big, or to have a Federal Govt. that ruled over us. It's supposed to be ruled by us.

These are just my opinions. Doesn't make me right or wrong. It's just the way I see it.

I'm not one of Trump's "rich friends". But yet...I am getting a personal tax cut.

And since my business is an LLC...I will also be getting a corporate tax cut on my business.

When you say "cutting money to the lower classes"...let's be honest. You're really implying that people will get less of taxpayer money handed to them. Right?

But the part you might be missing is: people are coming OFF the welfare role and going back to work. There are good jobs coming back to this country thanks to the corporate tax cuts and deregulation.

Something that I do every day is watch the BUSINESS news channels.

The "normal" news channels are all just biased. Fox is for Trump. All the rest are against him. There is no real news there at all.

But if you want to find out what's REALLY happening today...start watching Fox Business News or CNBC for starters.

If all you watch is CNN for instance...you'll be wondering what happened when Trump gets re-elected easily. It won't make any sense for this horrible and worst President of all the times to get re-elected...or to have gotten elected in the first place.

But when you watch the business news...you see the actual things that are improving people's lives across the nation. Then it hits you what is really happening.

that's not at all pertinent to the issue of having a promised cost of living raise yanked out from underneath 2 million people just a couple of months prior to it happening.
and I don't know about you but I'll take the best of the best over mediocre every time. of course I want the best Air Traffic controller, doctors, lawyers, etc. that requires a benefit package that's a big enough incentive to motivate people to be their best.

I don't disagree with the fact that there is much bloat in governments, but let's not penalize those who were promised a cost of living raise because of that and let's not distort the issue either with pay. these people did not set their salaries.

the truly comical part of those who are trying to deflect from this by exclaiming "bloated gov" and overpaid workers miss the fact that that's not why trump canceled their promised cost of living raise.

he stated he canceled it due to "serious economic conditions". if he were canceling it because of bloat or pay, he would have said so.

if he were genuinely sincere about government costs spiraling out of control he'd not have spent $77,000,000 so far on golfing at his own resorts. etc. et al on&on.

Our country wasn't founded to have a Federal Govt. this big, or to have a Federal Govt. that ruled over us. It's supposed to be ruled by us.

These are just my opinions. Doesn't make me right or wrong. It's just the way I see it.

Were you forced into pornography? Could you have instead gotten an education or training that would provide you a public sector job with a sweet compensation package?

Did you not get to choose you life path?

Again, this is supposed to be a porn forum.
Why aren't you asking that same question of these poor mistreated govt. workers making bank off the govt. teat
Maybe THEY should have considered a different line of work.

And maybe some of y'all should not be posting here but over at the govt. employee forum instead. Lol

robbie you did not have to pass a test to become a porner. you are not a unique snowflake because you are a porner. You are the one whining about how shitty your porner life is compared to a federal employee.

you can try and revoke my porn pass here at GFy because I am currently not running any porn operations, just like the vindictive mean-spirited trump did with brennan, but the fact is you are not in charge.

Didn't "whine"about anything. I simply made a point. You guys are the ones whining about pampered govt. employees getting less of my money.

And you ridiculed my profession on a board designed FOR my profession.

The Federal Govt. should be doing everything it can to keep employee costs down.

Each golf trip costs taxpayers 3 million dollars.

The Secret Service has had to continually request for more money to protect Trump family to the tune of 27 million to 30 million dollars a time for staying in places that not the white house.

At the current rate of spending, travel and protection costs will surpass half-a-billion dollars by the end of Trump's four-year term.

Robbie, please tell us what you think about Trump's golfing expenses.
