President Trump's approval rating is pretty dismal overall, a poll by The Washington Post and ABC News found on Friday, but the numbers are worse in some demographic groups than others.

Just 3 percent of black Americans polled said they approved of Trump's performance, compared to the president's 36 percent approval overall. An overwhelming 93 percent of black Americans, meanwhile, said they disapprove. Those numbers have plummeted, data over time shows; just months ago his approval among black Americans was nearly 20 percent.

I read the article, and the poll has a margin of error of 3.5%... so it's possible -0.5% of black voters approve of Trump.

That’s because it is far-fetched. Trump’s black approval rating is nowhere near 36 percent.

Polling firms that have interviewed far more African Americans, and that are much more transparent than Rasmussen, all show that Trump’s black approval rating is much lower than 36 percent.

For example, Gallup has interviewed thousands of African American respondents in 2018. Its polling suggests that Trump’s black approval rating has consistently been around 10 to 15 percent through 2018.

The same is true in polling by Ipsos/Reuters

Similarly, the polling firm Civiqs, which has interviewed more than 140,000 respondents in 2017 and 2018 suggests that Trump’s black approval rating has consistently been in the single-digits throughout his presidency.

Similarly, Trump’s average approval rating among African American respondents in seven YouGov/Economist surveys conducted in July and August was 13 percent. His average approval rating among African Americans in four Quinnipiac University surveys conducted over the past two months was just 9 percent.

I know several. I would say, as usual, the truth is between 3% and 30%, and both those numbers are outliers. Further, the Post poll is not likely or registered voters, so matters little.

also look about the times and the people they are calling.

Polls can't predict electoral college votes. Trump lost the popular vote by quite a lot, as the polls indicated he would.

The rest isn't even worth addressing it's so stupid.

Winning overwhelmingly in New York and California won Hillary the "popular vote".

She lost the popular vote pretty convincingly in the 48 other states.

And yes..the polls WERE predicting the electoral vote. Remember?
Every night John King would be on CNN with his "magic board" showing a map of the country and the electoral vote totals that the polls were all predicting.
And he would say every night: "According to our polls...Trump has NO PATH to 270 electoral votes"

And then I remember in that last week watching the panels of "experts" on CNN laughing at Trump as he campaigned in Michigan and Pennsylvania and snarkily saying he was wasting his time in those states.

I was meaning that when you add up the other 48 states she lost convincingly. She won huge in Cali and NY...and then other states were a lot closer in the popular vote that she won. But make no mistake...when you look at the map of counties across the nation...it's overwhelmingly Trump.
