No threads about the new South Park yet?

Perhaps I missed em, so here is my opinion anyway.

Despite the subject matter, agree / disagree / funny / unfunny etc, the main thing in my mind was that Randy's voice had changed. I looked online and it's still Trey (apparently) but to me it sounded much deeper and a bit like he was stoned?

What say you?

Been a long time since I saw an episode at it's regular scheduled airing date.

Mee too. It was Wednesday night in the US, and Thursday night in the UK, but I didn't catch it till the repeat which was this morning (Saturday) at 2.00 am :upsidedow

How is it different and 'new'?
That show has been on for ovr 20 years lol

It stopped being funny when Chef left/died and they stopped killing Kenny every episode.

Its 'new' cause its the new season... Season 22 I think...

Its 'different' as in I think Randys voice was different, and I wondered if anyone felt the same...

As for great episodes since Chef left, I LOVED 'Put It Down' last season...

Seriously? Isaac Hayes left the show because he and / or the Church of Scientology didn't like to be made fun of. And neither he nor Kenny's constant deaths on the show were the funniest parts of the show in my opinion... I think South Park's tight writing and great characters are what make the show funny. I still watch it and still laugh.

PS CS, Randy's my favourite character on the show. I didn't notice that he sounds different in the new season though. I'll listen for it though next time.

I haven't watched it in years but I really started appreciating it when they could quickly roll out episodes making fun of current events. Something would happen on Monday and by Wednesday night they would have a hilarious episode out.

I loved it! The best part was Butters being the hall monitor carrying a machine gun. :1orglaugh

They never hold back on what they make their shows about and so many just get mad cause the episodes go over their heads.

Does make it a bit confusing sometimes when you watch repeats, as sometimes their satire can be quite subtle. "Hmm, what happened 12 years ago that this episode is poking fun at?"

I didn't even know there was a new south park

I enjoyed SP much better, when the seasons were not sequential

They no longer are

Yeah, I noticed his voice too, but there was a slight change with Cartman's voice back in the day too. Even Homer Simpson's voice changed a bit but still, it's the same actor doing his voice. Regardless, love me some SP.

Funnily enough, I watched a 20 second clip of the next new episode online - It was all Randy and his voice was perfectly normal again !

Perhaps Trey just had a cold or somethin :)

As far as I'm aware, it should be episode 2 of the new series tonight in America...

The new season opener was pretty lackluster IMO. I was expecting a lot and got let down. Ill see how episode 2 goes.
