I'm tired of mainstream. How is adult these days?

Hey guys, I'm an old school webmaster who used to pump out galleries and submit to all the big guys. Blog networks. Even was around when adsense allowed porn.

I said that because I know how the business is. Few will share actual tips that work and I'm cool with that. Nobody wants others eating from their plate.

My basic question is if adult is still worth doing if you bust ass? I'm never going to be a big player. That's just life. I am nor have ever been good at this. Only enough to make it by and that's what I'm looking for now.

Anyone want to mentor me in the changes over the last 5 or so years and how to get back in? I'll happily hook you up and use your codes but you gotta be serious. I don't need hand holding, but more of a something like:

Step 1 make galleries, submit to tgp
Step 2 make a blog network with good seo
Step 3 buy traffic from xxxx
Step 4 anything new

Just stuff like that. I know how it all used to work, I'm just wondering what still works and what is new.

Thanks!

If you have stuff that still works and you've kept it online all this time, keep it going. That's what I did. I would not start new adult business these days.

I spend the rest of my time working on things that I like, and it's not adult.

I have nothing now from the past. I'd be starting fresh

Check WP script - a solution to get your porn tube from the ground up . . .

mce 11-24-2018 03:33 PM

You can try reviews. But you have to have an 'overlay' for it that isn't obviously adult.

For example, you can start a blog on how guys can impress, pick up, and get with chicks.
That's the overlay. The real pay off = your mailing list where you link to penis product reviews, dating site reviews, etc etc All these payload pages are on your blog

Thanks for the replies so far guys. I have some mainstream sites but they don't profit as much as one of them does so I get discouraged. Regarding the big profit, it's seasonal so I can't do much 9 months a year

Promote live cams.

I've tried that back in the day. I assume you need mega traffic for anything?

What is the seasonal topic and how can you parlay that into a related niche to profit from?

Example: golf. Seasonal sport, but many golfers will have money to go on ski trips or golf vacations in the early spring etc. etc.

Your current topic may be seasonal but there is likely a spinoff that you can take advantage of. Your other option is to scale your seasonal revenue so high that the other 9 months don't matter.

Another example.

Snow removal service, winter months.

Those paying for snow removal would also likely pay for other landscaping duties in the spring, summer and fall.

Honest advice: It's not worth it. It takes about 100 times the effort to make anything near what was made in those old school days. Stick to mainstream. Going from mainstream to adult is like going from laywer to toilet cleaner money wise.

Good analogy. Lawyers in CA make an average of $157,000 per year

Promote lifecams; make self-populated tubes, gallery sites/pinboards or mixed ones with CyberSEO plugin.

Features:
  • The plugin accepts all existing RSS, Atom and XML feeds, it can import any type of content form CSV tables, raw text dumps, HTML documents and JSON files. With CyberSEO you can grab blog-style RSS feeds, Ebay feeds, XML Shop feeds, YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Adult Tubes (Brazzers, Nuvid, Drtuber, Pornhub, RedTube, Tnaflix, xHamster, xVideos, YouPorn, GotPorn etc), Livecam sites (AWEmpire, BongaCams, Chaturbate, Camsoda etc), XML tube feeds (SmartScripts, TubeAce, NATS formats), Google Blog Search, Yahoo Answers, Flickr, Twitter, Reddit, IGN News, Yahoo News, Bing News, CNN, CBS, NBC, BBC, The New York Times, ABC News, Fox News and many-many more. With CyberSEO you can import content from almost any source!
  • The syndication algorithm has the ability to pull the content on autopilot. Furthermore, you can assign the updating period to each particular content source. Also you can set up a maximum number of posts that will be syndicated from it at once. This is a very useful feature for SEO of your blogs, because search engines don’t like blogs that add 100 or more posts in a moment.
  • The CyberSEO plugin is able to automatically extract full-text articles from shortened RSS feeds.
  • You can synonymize and rewrite every syndicated post, shuffle its paragraphs, translate it to other languages, add any random HTML blocks as headers and footers.
  • The CyberSEO plugin is integrated with the following content spinner services: WordAi, TheBestSpinner, SpinnerChief, SpinRewriter, SpinChimp, ESpiner.
  • Proxy support. CyberSEO will use your proxy-list to access all internal URL’s. The proxies are usually used to parse those services that do not allow frequent connections from the same IP’s.
  • The auto commenting tool allows one to automatically post comments using user-defined content and random names.
  • The unique “Parse WordPress archives” function allows one to syndicate all the published posts from any other WordPress blog with a single click.
  • You can hotlink images from the syndicated posts or download them to your server. This feature allows to bypass hotlink protection, hide the image source URL and improve performance of the blog.
  • Adjustable post uniqueness identification by GUID, the post title or both.
  • Automatic generation of featured images (post thumbnails).
  • The CyberSEO plugin works with all existing WordPress themes and allows one to run a full-featured automatically populated tube sites, image galleries, pinboards, blogs, magazines, online shops and anything else.
  • The PHP programmers can write their own scripts to alter the syndicating content. With this feature webmasters gain the absolute power on generated content!

Good advice. Today you need 50-100 times the traffic to get a sign up that you got in the past. Everything has been done to death and free tubes rule the day. Buying traffic will bankrupt you.

Try mainstream vlogging in a sector you know and understand.

3xmedia 11-25-2018 08:07 AM

depends on why you stopped. generally it's much harder to make $$$$ then it was 10+ years ago. creating galleries and submiting to TGPs? :1orglaugh sorry, it's not 1996 anymore, this won't get you anywhere.

patadeperro 11-25-2018 11:38 AM

Contrary to what many people here tell you adult is NOT death but yes is true now you need to push bigger traffic numbers to get a conversion OR if you have really been making money on mainstream you have learned a thing or two about marketing and then you will be able to find profitable niches in adult.

Most people who start in adult NEVER learn anything about marketing because there is no need, adult is just a matter of pushing volume and you will eventually will make conversions, on the other hand mainstream is about marketing, if you learned you will make a killing in the adult world.

Good reply. It is about a TV show that only airs 3 months a year. I'll say Game of Thrones (it's not, but that's an example of a mega show that dies after season finale).

My particular show, I get inside spoilers, have met cast members, etc. I'd write about similar shows but I won't have nearly the same inside info so I don't have the same stuff to write about. Let's say I have GoT spoilers (I don't) and my site is huge, I could try to write about say The Walking Dead but at best I'd be able to only recap episodes which isn't nearly the same traffic draw.

Thoughts? I do like your train of thought

Make and sell your own content, the rest is so much smoke and mirrors:2 cents:

Not really. If you get exclusive rights to a model, you're selling a FANTASY from one unique source. It's all about BRANDING.

Doesn't it still hold true (in adult) that if you make and sell your own content -- and it's really good and directly serves a specific niche/need, you will do well? Sure, if you're just finding ways to skim a dollar from volumes of traffic with no actual ability to create content it would be tougher.

I am preaching this mantra here for 10 years, yet the "skimmers" have the day for now :2 cents:

It depends on how good the content is, what it costs to make and then how much you can sell it for.

mce 11-27-2018 04:12 PM

OP, You can always jump on the TINDER or GRINDR bot bandwagon
