google is indexing them because if a page has something wrong I get a email from them saying this or that has to be changed in AMP pages, after its fixed I get an email saying its fixed

BTW the pages do convert for mobile traffic, an affiliate just had a sale from one of the first pages I made a few minutes ago

Just mainstream - I put a couple of AdSense ads on and Google loves them...

I will have a play with some cam blogs - Thanks again..

putting videos on an amp page requires you to put a
<script async="" custom-element="amp-video"
in the header

So you create a regular and an AMP version of your pages?
Wouldn't it be just better to make your original page AMP 'compatible' too? (dunno how this AMP works, but from this short intro https://www.ampproject.org/docs/gett...e/basic_markup it looks like its possible)
Any idea how does it helps with the 'mobile experience'? (I see two JS files included in the header - one for video as you pointed out - but how does it really helps n speeding up the site for mobile?)

Thanks :)

yes seperate pages, you cant use AMP for non mobile because using the responsive tag make the images on a computer giant, way to big. but on a mobile device it shrinks the image to match the screen size of the device. The amp pages load faster on a mobile device.

I tried it on some of my CJ tubes back in late 2016/early 2017

Google didn't show the AMP versions any extra love

And the AMP versions had worse engagement metrics because no javascript means no mouseover/ontouch thumbnail previews

Plus, the AMP versions get served from google's cache, and can't run javascript. So any advanced tracking is impossible until the user clicks thru to your actual site. You lose that first page view (the one served from google's cache which can't run JS), so your internal metrics have no idea what the landing page is. I think you can still do some tracking thru google analytics but losing that first page view on my server-side data gathering system was a real problem for me.

overall I would say, fuck AMP and fuck google

and why would you want this on a mobile only page? they are using their fingers not a mouse

you can use javascript to make on-touch previews on mobile. i have it on all my sites

i honestly don't know if this is why engagement metrics were worse on AMP though

another theory I have is that, I couldn't use javascript to lazy-load thumbnails, so loading above-the-fold images was slower/less responsive

who knows
