He was so selfish to trap that cat in that small room he lives in. It's great that someone convinced him the right thing to do for that cat is to set it free from his death grip and live a good life elsewhere as he prepares to be imprisoned.

it's telling that after 6 years of the embassy taking care of the cat for him and cleaning up after the cat for him that when the rules change and he needs to clean up after himself and the cat he ditches the cat.

The Ecuadorian embassy imposed new house rules on Assange in October, which included cat care, cleaning his own bathroom, and taking care of his personal hygiene.

The WikiLeaks founder sued in response, saying that the new rules were "violating his fundamental rights and freedoms." A judges aid that Assange had to obey them.

Julian Assange reportedly gave away his beloved cat in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London so it wouldn't be trapped with him any more.

Assange freed the feline — known as "Embassy Cat" — as its "isolation became unbearable," and to "allow it a healthier life," Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported on Tuesday.

The WikiLeaks founder has been holed up in the embassy since August 2012 after being accused of rape in Sweden.

He frequently posed with the cat and posted their photos to a dedicated Instagram page.

Actually.. this is just about his personal living hygiene. It's been reported for a few years now, that Assange essentially reeks of body odor for not showering and not picking up after himself. Add a fucking cat that he doesn't pick up after and the stench must be something.

For 6 years the embassy staff I've been doing all the housework, laundry and cleaning out the litter box.

The new rules go into effect now where Assange will have to clean his cats litterbox himself, and suddenly Assange gets rid of the cat.

This shows a lot about Julian Assange personality defect and how self-centered he is and self-aggrandizing. He's above cleaning up his cat's litter box and would rather ditch the cat than be stooped so low.

Yeah I've had a few cats over the years but the last 15 years I've just been a dog person, except for when I lived in North Carolina for two years and there were stray cats out in the shed with kittens they kept popping out (the previous owners were lesbians and they left the cats behind). I've seen enough cats get run over and die from drinking radiator fluid, and kittens with huge bot fly larva under their chests there to last a lifetime.

Assange is blaming the embassy for him getting rid of his cat. he can't even take responsibility for the decision to get rid of his cat he has to blame somebody else that's a mental defect.

Sitting in a prison cell with no windows he's going to be thankful for the six years the Ecuadorian people gave him in that Embassy all-expenses-paid and rent free.
