Muellers' Grand Jury extended additional 6 months - new Russia evidence


Mueller's federal grand jury has been extended by six months.

The grand jury, based in Washington, DC, was seated for an 18-month term that began in July 2017 and was set to expire in the coming days.
Under federal rules, the court is able to extend a grand jury's term for another six months if it is "in the public interest."

Grand jury activity is secret, except following the 23-person group's approval of criminal indictments.

Chief Judge Beryl Howell of the DC District Court, who oversees the Mueller grand jury, granted the extension. She does not sit in on its sessions.

I just read the article myself. I don't see any mention of "new Russia evidence".

"Russian political conspirator Maria Butina is set to meet with federal prosecutors in Washington and Virginia over the next several weeks, according to a court filing that was posted and quickly removed from a federal docket Friday afternoon.

US attorneys may want to interview Butina in their offices well into January, according to the filing. She may also be requested to appear at the grand jury in Washington, according to the filing, which is a request to a federal judge to allow the currently detained Russian to be transported by the FBI for cooperation interviews."

I doubt Butina has anything of interest to add to the Mueller investigation.

My take on Butina is that she was sent to US in an attempt infiltrate the GOP through the NRA. I don't believe she was a super spy or anything like that. My guess it that the FSB has people who try to recruit non spies and just tell them to embed themselves into American society. Maybe they give them a little bit of training, non spy stuff, maybe some communication stuff. In the case of Butina they gave her some low grades firearms training, and an introduction into how to debate (meaning support) the American stance on the second amendment. She met a few low hanging fruit in the GOP, and of course when one of the Trumps were around she was sure to attend to try to meet them.

Or I might be wrong. Maybe she was a professionally fully trained spy.

Either way she wouldn't have much information about the Trump investigation.

The Mueller investigation is about Russia meddling to impact our elections so a Russian spy infiltrating the biggest GOP donor of the 2016 election (the NRA) does add to the Mueler investigation.

You might be right. If this Maria Butina chick was involved in helping to push funds through the NRA to the Trump campaign, sure, you could consider it a part of it.

She was also working the Relgious nutter groups who donate to the GOP..
