Ukrainian Collusion
NELLIE OHR: UKRAINIAN LAWMAKER WAS FUSION GPS SOURCE
"Nellie Ohr told lawmakers in October that one of Fusion GPS’s sources was a Ukrainian parliamentarian whose government has accused him of illegally meddling in the 2016 U.S. election. Ohr, a former Fusion GPS contractor, testified that Serhiy Leshchenko was a source for the Democrat-funded opposition research firm. Leshchenko was the leading force behind the release of the so-called “black ledger,” which accused Paul Manafort of receiving illicit payments from the Ukrainian government. The ledger led to Manafort’s firing from the Trump campaign, but its validity remains in dispute." https://dailycaller.com/2019/02/06/n...henko-ukraine/ |

It's like saying "doing drugs is not a crime". No, it's a crime. Did drugs this morning when I took two ibuprofen. However, if I was shooting heroin that would be a different story. The term "doing drugs" is not illegal, but that's a very broad term. However, there is a long list of crimes that Trump could be charged with. We can start with "18 U.S.C. § 201: Bribery of public officials and witnesses". This "is bribery, which requires a showing that something of value was corruptly given, offered, or promised to a public official (as to the giver) or corruptly demanded, sought, received, accepted, or agreed to be received or accepted by a public official (as to the recipient) with intent, inter alia, 'to influence any official act' (giver) or in return for 'being influenced in the performance of any official act". There are multiple crimes in that area he can be charged with. Dozens of them, all very similar. Next up is.... 923. 18 U.S.C. § 371—CONSPIRACY TO DEFRAUD THE UNITED STATES.... "The statute is broad enough in its terms to include any conspiracy for the purpose of impairing, obstructing or defeating the lawful function of any department of government . . . (A)ny conspiracy which is calculated to obstruct or impair its efficiency and destroy the value of its operation and reports as fair, impartial and reasonably accurate, would be to defraud the United States by depriving it of its lawful right and duty of promulgating or diffusing the information so officially acquired in the way and at the time required by law or departmental regulation." Then we can toss in election fraud, campaign fiance violations, lying under oath (Trump did answer questions, under oath, in writing), obstruction of justice, and treason.... Oh, what's that you say? You can only be tried under treason at times of war? Seems to me we have Russian forces in Syria firing on American forces. We haven't declared war, but we sure do have troops in multiple combat zones.... That's war isn't it? I keep saying this time and time again... This is just starting. This is going to go on for the next decade. The Democrats will keep on investigating anything they believe they can legally investigate, and there is a lot to look at. One investigation opens up another investigation. Republicans need to took a good look back at Watergate, because it's happening all over again. |
