Last time i was checking, it was required to fly in person to open account. Did that changed in the meantime?

Just fly over and try the first branch of Bank of America and fill out the forms. It helps to have a friend with a US address for receiving physical mail. Make sure to pick an account that is free. Otherwise the fees will eat you up.
