Don't you have some scam to run somewhere?

Bladewire 02-15-2019 08:04 PM

Amazing that the miniscule 19% that voted for Trump is given so much sway in society to project hate & ignorance.

The Electoral College must be abolished

The red hats would have you believe that 52% of the country is red hat. Its a number they tout often here.

brassmonkey 02-15-2019 08:18 PM

hopefully he starts something for black youth. get some of them off the damn streets and making their dreams come true.

King Mark 02-15-2019 08:34 PM

Heh.....

OneHungLo 02-15-2019 09:06 PM

He's not playing because he sucks. If you think any of those owners have any principles above the might shekel you're nuts.

kane 02-15-2019 09:37 PM

I would love to know how much he got.

huey 02-15-2019 09:47 PM

Never seen such an average player get more hype. Guy had one good season with the 49'ers and then went to shit.
I bet he is making more now than he could have as a player.

If it was less than $100 Million then he got fucked.
He signed a $126 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers in 2014.
So I'm guessing way higher than that.

If it had gone to trial and the NFL lost, the low end settlement would be :

- normal contract of $126M
- punitive $126M (fine = loss)
- Treble damages 3x(126+126) = $756Million

That would be the lowest I would expect if I was the NFL defense attorney.
So I would have no problem offering $200M to settle out of court but
would probably have to add $100M to that because Kaepernick's attorney would want
1/3 of settlement for his fee.

So I figure he got $300M but $100M goes to legal fees.

AT LEAST!

I say at least because no juror who paid attention would think that $126M is punitive to
the NFL.
Rather then being punitive to the NFL, that would be a joke.

You really have to get over $1Billion to be reasonably punitive to the NFL.

In 2017 the NFL distributed more than $8 billion in national revenue that was split among the league's 32 teams.

Bottom line : As long as Kaepernick would accept under $1Billion is was a done deal.

He didn't get hyped because of his playing skills. He got hyped for being blackballed while practicing his constitutional right to peacefully protest.

The thing is, nobody is against him protesting, they were against him doing it at his JOB.

If the average Joe tried to take a knee during his job he'd get fired. Well, the same thing sort of happened here except that he didn't get fired for taking a knee, he got fired for being a shit QB.

King Mark 02-16-2019 09:38 AM

^^^nobody is against him protesting? You sure?

A friend of mine told me he heard on NPR a "source" was saying it was in the area of $60 to $80 million.

I can see how he would not want settle for less than the value of that contract.

all of it is a guess... nothing more

Bladewire 02-16-2019 12:47 PM

$80 million plus attorneys fees paid. Good for him :thumbsup

The NFL did him wrong and he had proof this is why they settled so quickly and for such a high number.

I seriously doubt that.
The guy demanded 20 million to play in the new AAF league.
So he has no problem waiting for bigger money.

Please; the guy walked away from a $126Million contract; he ain't gonna settle for $80M.

Wait wait; lets just make up some news like the media: "The settlement dollars were two White guys".

Um Kaepernick was 3 years into that contract so the $80 million settlement makes sense. He was in talks with the Alliance of American Football to play and was asking $20 million.

I don't think anyone cared if he was on the streets railing against the government or some imaginary white boogie man paying him millions of dollars to toss a pigskin around. It's the fact he did it during work time. He was using the NFL as his sop box. NFL fans don't want to see that afro'ed crybaby.

2016 : On October 13, it was announced that he and the 49ers restructured his contract, turning it into a two-year deal with a player option for the next season
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick

The guy also signed a deal with Nike worth millions so no need to settle a
case for $80M when he could just wait to see if he could get more.

Your sources are speculating just like the article says, and there's a possibility that they
are simply "leaking" a low number to the press to save face.
