Need some VPS recommendations
 

Hello everybody,

Long time lurker here, but this is my first post hehe.


As the title says, I need some servers to deploy my first website.


Here are a few conditions for the setup:

- Should allow an adult website hehe :D
- Unmanaged VPS
- Dedicated VLAN between the VPS machines (unmetered traffic) - only my servers on the private network
- OS version - ubuntu 18.04 LTS
- Posibillity to select VPS size (need a mix of smaller and bigger servers 1GB ram / 1CPU to 8GB ram / 4CPU)
- SSD storage

bonus features:

- shared storage mounts between machines (i guess i can do this with NFS so it's not a requirement)

Vultr is a very good choose with a lot of datacenter and all SSD disk. You can get $50 credits if you spend $25

Yeah, i've been looking at Vultr / Linode / Digitalocean at the moment as well, but i was wandering if there are any other quality VPS providers out there.

Amazon seems nice as well but, I wouldn't start my website on it because:
- it might be too expensive considering the numbers of servers i need (i heard you can get burned if you don't choose the right machines)
- complicated initial setup (till you get the hang of their ecosystem)

I have VPS from Vultr and DigitalOcean and I am pleased by their services!

Decided to go with Vultr as it had almost the best results in our CPU / MEMORY / HDD tests + the true private network feature

The only downside for them is that they don't have a "network transfer pool" like Linode.

You won't regret it, VULTR rocks! I use VULTR and Leaseweb VPSes (great network in WDC-01 and AMS-01).
