Former 90210 Actor Luke Perry hospitalized after suffering a massive stroke

jeez :(

Luke Perry is hospitalized after suffering a “massive stroke,” according to reports.

TMZ and The Blast say that paramedics were called to the Riverdale actor’s home in Sherman Oaks, Calif., on Wednesday at 9:40 a.m. to treat someone suffering a stroke. Perry, who soared to stardom in the ’90s on Beverly Hills, 90210, was transported to the hospital.

A spokesperson for the star, 52, tells Yahoo, “Mr. Perry is currently under observation at the hospital,” but provided no further details.

On Thursday afternoon, TMZ reported that a Perry family source said the star had been put in a medically induced coma. However, Perry’s rep said that is untrue. The website now reports that Perry is “sedated.”

Perry’s health crisis occurred the same day that his former Peach Pit co-stars announced their Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot. The actor, a father of two, did not sign on to star in the project, which will feature Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling, and air on Fox. He played heartthrob Dylan McKay.

Well wishes for Perry popped up on social media immediately after news broke. Shannen Doherty, who played Brenda to his Dylan, shared a throwback of them hugging on the show.

Yeah no coincidence.

He wasn't previously not signed to do the reboot but now he will be for bringing the reboot to the next level of publicity :winkwink:

The initial report was he was that he was in the hospital under observation and he was fine talking and laughing with family. He had the stroke the same day the press release came out about the 90210 reboot without him being a cast member.

Now it's a massive stroke and he is sedated. Sad either way.

My mom had a pacemaker put in, and since she had been on blood-thinners she had to be taken off those for the surgery. Surgery went fine and she was being released that day. The doctor had just come into her room to check on her when she had a minor stroke. She couldn't have timed it any better.

Stroke & heart attacks freak me out.

My best friend Mark was a mortician. He had a stroke in his 30's and was left almost a vegetable that needed 24/7 care the rest of his life. He had to have help to even communicate. Just awful. He died of a massive heart attack a few years later.
