We have some issues, like most cities. We have a serious homeless problem right now, but overall this is a great place to live.

In all seriousness, if you live right down town or go there on a regular basis it's hard to miss the homeless.

What I would hope is that these states have proper drug treatment facilities.

Such a huge reason homeless stay homeless.

Each person should have one solid shot of getting clean and into a program. If they fuck up after that it's on them.

I've been here for 10 years now (from Seattle) and can't stand it...however if you travel outside of Portland about an hour drive Oregon is beautiful country and that is where I'm headed!

I have lived right down town and loved it when I did, but that was the 1990's and things were different. Now I live in a pretty small town about 40 minutes outside of Portland. It's close enough I can easily get into the city but still have a more country/laid back life.
