Gobshites??
 

Just read this and i am not sure what a gobshite is. I’ve read “shite” as an Irish slang of shit, and a gob is a large wad. So Americans are large wads of shit?

Just heard that Americans call croissants “French doughnuts”. What a bunch of gobshites hahaha.

I’ve never heard anyone refer to croissants as French doughnuts. Kwasahnts, croycents, crawsaints, kwahsawnts.

They use that term in Liverpool

Gob = mouth, e.g. "Shut ya gob" meaning "shut your mouth".
Shite = shit, just a slightly more polite way of saying it.

Therefore gobshite = someone who talks a load of shit.

We used to have sweets called "gobstoppers", they were just lollipops really but they stopped you from talking while you were sucking them hence the name.

To me, a GobShite occurs when one has crapped his pants and not changed them, so many times in a row, that the fresh shit simply cannot go 'down' and out the usual exit as its fully blocked.

Nature of course finds a way, and it instead comes up, out of the mouth. A 'GobShite'
