YouTube banned me and all my attached Google accounts

Luckily it was one account of a few, one which I've rarely used. But I did have analytics and gmail attached to the account (also unused).

I decided to create a channel, uploaded a video with GOT intro music quietly in the background. No footage from the show but video is related. 5 minutes later my account gets terminated. No warning no strikes no reasoning :1orglaugh.

No big loss, though it's kind of freaky that this is the new YouTube. Not worth creating content if one tiny thing can make it all go away.

Not sure if the music was allowed or not but I'm assuming that's what did it. No ads no links. Not worth walking on eggshells.

So lesson of the story. Use multiple accounts for each service. YouTube 1 account, analytics another... etc.

You can contact them and ask for the reason. That would be better I guess.

must've been something else... when you use copyrighted music, they demonetize you at best, as far as i know

I've sent a message.

It's strange. I put a bit of the video on Instagram and I received this message:

"Your Video Has Been Blocked

We've blocked the video you posted at 10:19 AM on May 15 because it included the following content:

Mayweather vs. McGregor by

Due to ownership restrictions, your video is blocked in some countries, but fully available in:"

It's available in most countries. But the reason makes no sense. There's nothing in the video that relates to boxing.

But maybe the reason is related. I'll give an answer if they reply.

You can't use any copyright music ,videos, or others content whatsoever. You will get a copy strike immediately. Youtube has cracked down hard.

I shot a three minute video of some fun family stuff of my Grandaughter running around the garden and playing like a 2 and a half year old does. I put a music track over it, that happened to feature her name. Uploaded it as a private unlisted video which was not embeddable and you needed to know the link for. The link was sent to my son (her dad) and he watched it once or twice. Totally personal, private family video.

Got an email suggesting I'd just done the equivalent of livestreaming the latest avengers movie in 4K direct from the cinema to a paying group of ten thousand plus subscriber. Ridiculous !

That's because you didn't sing on that intro GOT music ;)

The fairness doesn't equate.

When are copyright holders going to crack down on cam performers playing background music in their rooms?

brassmonkey 05-16-2019 03:34 PM

i learned if its popular people will try to get rid of you so they can move in. :2 cents::2 cents:

I had a video get demonetized with the revenue switched from me to going to one of the recording companies, the background music was from youtube's own free music library. The worst thing was that I got no notification, and when I tried to contact them from the management page the link to do so was broken...
