I've never really followed Formula One, but I remember reading about Niki Lauda in magazines when I was a kid. During the 1976 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring race track he was in serious accident and suffered burns to his face and the rest of his body. Seriously disfigured for the rest of his life, he returned to racing six weeks after the accident. He took fourth place in his first race after the accident, and won the F1 championship the following year.

RIP little fella 🙏

Rip Lauda.

The Rush movie was quite good, although he apparently got along with James Hunt more than the movie portrayed it.

RUSH is an under appreciated movie in my opinion. It was out of the theatres quickly and scores only 5.something on IMDB, but it's really good. Good story, good acting, and fucking cool cinematography. Really worth watching.

RIP Lauda.
(and RIP Hunt of course).

It was underrated, agreed. I was big into auto racing in my younger years and recalled the rivalry between Lauda and Hunt quite well at the time. And I remember the crash that nearly killed him, too.

I love the movie Rush; I have it on DVD.

I bought it online for to watch on a plane flight and thought it was great.
