And now I'm seeing ads for making that food item.

The worst ads I see are the ads I get after I buy something... for the item I've already purchased.

What's worse is when you have a conversation with friends about something and start seeing ads for it.

Tell me about it. I bought an indoor temperature gauge the other week, and I'm still seeing ads for them all over the net !

Think of the tens of millions of dollars these comoanies pay for advertising and they're advertising to people who just bought their product already what a waste.

Yep, it probably pays off for the advertisers based on how many people see the ads after not buying.

Thing is though, I actually bought a different make and model. I went onto amazon and searched, chose the one I wanted and ordered it - Next day its on my shelf doing its job. For some reason amazon seems to think I wanna buy another, similar yet different model and keeps showing me ads for it. It really has been well over a week now and I just went onto a random page and there it was again - So I screenshotted it.

Not that paranoid. It's tracking you.

Now whats REALLY bad is when you are having a conversation with someone about a product that you have NEVER searched for. And after having a conversation with this person in real life you see ads for it online about 2 hours later.

I had someone recommend "Huel" to me - It's this protein shake type thing I guess. Never searched for it or anything related to it in my life...it's not my kind of thing but low and behold I saw ads for it 2 hours later on Facebook and on Google Adsense sites.

That was about 4 months ago. I still see them occasionally

when I was living in the hills I had had weak wifi going up and down the hill YET I always got facebook and twitter updates, no email or google though...

yup and when you drive around google will show you place nearby to pick that crap up
