Why buying a TV is so fucking hard these days ?

The budget is 2K, BestBuy has 75 inch Samsung starting at 700 and going up to 5K.

Also should I wait until the new XBox / PS comes out

I have my eyes on an oled 65", wishing the price would fall.

If your budget is 2k, you probably want to go for the one thats 2k, not 5k or 700.

He's right, that should narrow down the choices drastically, eliminating the ones that cost $700 and $5k right out of the gate.:thumbsup

Stellar thread. :1orglaugh

I agree. Its extra hard - Especially during Covid. That's why I always recommend simply stealing one from a neighbours house, then if you don't like it, just steal another. :2 cents:

TVs are incredible now - don't worry about getting the best, just get a 75 4K UHD SAMSUNG with subwoofer for 2k$ and be happy. There are even 85" 4Ks for that in off brands. All 100 times better than the shit 20 years ago.

Yeah its all Qled vs Oled now. Iv been looking at them recently as my main TV is around 8 years old. Qleds are meant to better for a room with light shining through the window. OLEDs have the better image but the risk of screen burn puts me off. Sales rep in PC World showed me a display OLED they had in store with a beach & surf board burnt into it. Really put me off as i dont fancy having to babysit an OLED, i dont need the hassle. Samsung 2020 QLEDs are sadly a step back from the 2019 models but of course they are the same price. Im actually really impressed with a brand called Hisense. Their 55 inch QLED looked amazing in store and are obviously cheaper than Samsung. Might hang off till Black Friday and hope to get it for a few hundred less. PS5 & Xbox Series X are not coming till November anyway

I still have a first generation Sharp Aquos, 42" LCD. It's still working great, and was even built with a little bit of flair in the frame design. It's not 4K of course but I still love this set.

Elsewhere in the house I have a 4K that I think I paid 7 or 8 hundred for. I wouldn't pay huge money for a television anymore. They aren't built to last. Most of the time one of the 3 power supply boards in the back will fry, and most people will just trash the set and buy a new one.

I wish i have more time for watching tv :P

Here here!

Go with a $1700 TV and $300 sound bar.

Dunno - last time it took me 20 min max

Wanted a certain size, looked up all Samsung models for that size, picked one within my budget and ordered it.

You mean you didn't make a thread to complain how difficult it was to buy a television? You're a monster!!!

femdomdestiny 08-09-2020 02:43 AM

I am planing to buy a TV for a bedroom soom, was just looking to get 5.0 speakers and will continue checking them today.

Anyway, 75 is minimum these days and I will go for it. 85 is a real difference but the difference in price is irritating. You can gat two 75 for 85 here, or something like that.

Personally, I am not demanding consumer. I am not watching TV , goal is to simply watch series and movies and browse sites sometimes.

Bought a Benq "25

We bought a new TV the problem was getting someone in the various stores to come and serve us. The staff were there but needed calling over to answer our questions, guess those guys aren't on a sales bonus!!!
