Anyone interested in launching an onlyfans competitor?
I'm interested in launching an OnlyFans competitor but would like to have a partner. The biggest thing with launching an onlyfans competitor is getting the models/influencers to sign up. Brand recognition does not matter to the paying customer. As long as the platform is friendly to navigate and easy to pay, the customer doesn't care if its onlyfans or newebsite123.com.
Once we have the site launched, it would be just about recruiting models. From hometown girls that post slutty pics to influencers with thousands of followers. I figure we could offer different incentives for models to sign up. Depending on how many followers they have we could offer sign up bonuses, or bonus after they get x amount of subscribers. We could offer them higher take home pay (onlyfans charges 20% i believe), offer 100% of earnings for first 1 month, etc. Various things to get the motivated to sign up. I figure a straight up sign up bonus would be the biggest way to get models to sign up but this could quickly eat up the budget. Maybe sign up bonus after they put out 10 videos and promote their link at least 3 times. Something like that. There are various sites that would be good for advertising to these models as well. Once we get a good amount of models signed up, I would hope that we start to get some organic sign ups, and it grows from there. Am I over simplifying the business concept? Probably...its always harder when you get into it. But I don't think getting models to sign up would be that hard. Then they promote the site for us. We keep them happy and motivated to keep putting out content, that means the paying customer will be happy and continue to pay, which will keep us happy. Anyone interested in discussing a partnership? Even if not interested in partnership would still love to hear your thoughts on the viability of this. |
How cute.

Man, there already are many competitors to Onlyfans: Loyalfans, Justforfans, Brazzers Plus, AVN Stars, The Xbiz one [Forgot the name], etc etc. I fear that you are too late :/

How about inventing an automobile to compete with Ford ?:1orglaugh

if you are able to recruit models then do that, put them on the existing sites, manage them, take your cut
starting a site now from scratch without traffic, models and knowledge is nonsense |

Yes, it could be used approach of mobile apps/games, like where you first put it on services with traffic like steam, google play, apple istore ,etc, and once you establish brand then you start selling directly. |

You will not be able to compete with onlyfans simply because they had the most amount of influencers/instagram thots at the right time to use their platform. The grand majority of ethots that made ethottery popular a few years ago - were on Onlyfans. There's not much else special about the platform. And branding absolutely does matter - someone will feel much more comfortable about not getting "sCaMmEd" or catfished when signing up to an onlyfans. Create your own competitor and the neckbeards that end up on your signup page will remember their nightmares of cross-sales and money lost to catfishes from their last random/no name dating offer signup they completed..
I see you are new here - wait until Paul Markham responds in this thread, any minute now, make sure to take his advice and you will be sure to succeed, he is an industry expert that knows everything. |
Everyone is probably kind of interested in launching an OnlyFans type of site, but you should only do it if you are bringing something special to the table. Do you have any unusual attributes for success in this space e.g. existing traffic, relationships with talent, buckets of money, etc.?

you need to invest a lot of money.
it becomes a point that you should invest money on something like that or look up for something new. Server cost, employments, brand recognition, credibility, model recruitment is a lot of process. I am not saying it can't be done, but i would try to go for a new idea. |

That's actually not a lot of competitors for the modern business model that the industry is heading towards. Secondly, like most competitors, each of those simply duplicated other existing platforms when they saw it was a smart market to get into so they don't actually add much that is unique to the market. Innovation isn't common within adult. There is ample window for providing a high quality product that offers at least some innovation It's not the time you launch or money where people would fall short in this market or most markets in this industry. It is like most industries, you cannot go into a market knowing very little because it would mean you will suffer a huge learning curve, whereas other people have already ironed out these things. This means that you will probably not profit and that models/users will not stick on your platform as your product will simply not provide any reason to choose yours over others. Your product may appear to be equal on the forefront but when you learn your infrastructure is not up to par for scaling, you will spend all your resources changing things over but you are doing this while live, users are finicky and will not sit idly by while you figure things out and address 'other' things. You need to launch out of the gate strong. The launch is everything. People fail to realize in this industry that products don't fall a bit flat, rebound once they figure things out. They launch successfully or they do not. There is no time for a learning curve in a mature market Unless you have been a big part of successful software platform's that feature VOD, streaming, etc - I wouldn't bother. People try to skip steps, take things one step at a time. Perhaps get a job being involved in one these companies, or running a similar smaller business. Or even running multiple model accounts for models, to really truly understand their needs. Would you open a theme park if you had some experience running a concession? |

GFY is a great place for trying out ideas because people here are ruthless but truthful (also toothless but youthful) so lay out what exactly you expect your advantages will be, and let them kick the shit out of it, if it holds, execute and people will DM you for partnerships. |

Good for you! Toyota came along quite a few years after Ford. Not to mention Tesla. If you have the resources and the drive, it does not matter how "late" to the game you are.
|
So, what will you do better than OnlyFans?
