Video Editing
Hi, Have a question for all the great video editors here:thumbsup I am getting ready to edit a couple of videos shot in .wmv Should I go ahead and edit in the format it was shoot in? Or, should I convert to H264 and then edit the video?
Thanks |
I suggest mp4 H264

I keep mine in the original source(and codex) and export(render) it to MP4 (AVC/AAC) before I upload it to YT.
My drones record in H.265, to its a extra step, but I can live with that for the moment. |
Id say no matter what format your source material is in, try and edit using that natively wherever you can. Don't forget, every time you recompress footage you're running a risk of it degrading and compressing, even a little bit.
If your edit software allows you to edit using the WMV source, edit with that. |
