Given the allegations of illegal activity, Visa is suspending Pornhub’s acceptance privileges pending the completion of our ongoing investigation. We are instructing the financial institutions who serve MindGeek to suspend processing of payments through the Visa network.

In Visa's world they are in control.

Just went to the site and clicked the link to get a premium membership and it only offered me the option to pay with cryptocurrency. No credit cards.

Interesting.

I wonder how that will go.

Fuck Visa

it's probably not as big a problem for them as it would at first seem,

1) so much (most?) of their revenue comes from selling ad space to other companies; other companies already usually buy ad space with alternative payment methods like paxum, crypto, etc

2) brazzers is still accepting credit cards, so apparently this doesn't even affect their paysite division -- just pornhub premium

it seems to me only a small portion of their business is affected. if visa/MC are still working with the mindgeek paysite division it seems like this is all just PR

It's also interesting that Discover and Paypal are missing as options.

without paypal, it could become a problem for paying studios and models, but not a major issue, plenty of other ways to make payments :2 cents:

Ironically it really only hurts the independent models and producers who rely on income from pornhub premium.
