Can someone recommend me a free wordpress theme?
 

I'm working on a blog that I want to manually control. (Long story)

80% of the content will be embeded adult videos.
20% will be text.


Monetizing this is not a priority henceforth the reason I'm looking
for free themes.

I just want something really light, simple and displays the full post.

The best thing probably is to grab a mainstream theme that suits your needs & adjust it to your liking. Much easier to find free ones among the mainstream ones

If predominantly video content, then consider a Wordpress tube theme.

I really don't like paying for something until I've
seen it working and how complicated the
dashboard is.

A lot of themes and plugins require that you're
a neuroscientist or that you have no life and
are willing to sit in front of your computer for
days trying to understand the crap.

Spend some bucks on GeneratePress, it's not much, maybe $20 and no site limits and lightweight and customizable. You will be glad you did if you have more than one site to populate.

It's really ugly but good looking was never important for this.

Also I freely admit that I'm a mediocre webmaster at best.
So I might be missing something but I've got zero
video thumbnails with any of these themes.



I've been installing and removing themes by the dozen.
It kind of sucks doing that for a few hours.


It's not a theme I can use for this project but I grabbed it
for different ones. So a big thanks for this.

Ugly? Depends on your definition of ugly, but those are your typical standard tube theme designs.

Xvideos style
Pornhub style
xHamster style

You create the thumbnails yourself from the videos you're embedding or hosting.

They also do an mass import plugin which automates the embedding and thumbnail, or you can manually add individually as you would do creating a post on WP.
