Why can a painter artist make a life like face but computer face looks like dead person.
I see an artist portrait in paint and it's like the person is going to jump out of the painting and
start talking; but computer drawn faces look like I need shovel to did grave. :1orglaugh |
You mean humanoid Sophia's art ?? She looks like she doesn't like humans at all.

I don't know, the CG in this video looks pretty convincing to me, and it's from 2018.

In a nutshell, the painter's looks not real enough and just looks good, and the computer one looks very real, but it causes you to feel that "something is wrong". |

You actually put a period at the end of the thread title and not a question mark?

Still new at this... but from what I have learned is that a lot of it comes from how realistic the character is.... textures, colors, shadings.... Second is how well it's animated.
Even with software to help automate the animation, you still need to go through piece by piece and tweak things here and there. Having the mocap equipment also makes a huge difference. You need great facial recognition and movement capture for the most realistic movements. I think the biggest give away is the hair. Especially longer hair... More realistic hair is needed. I personally have the capability to make very realistic humanoid characters. Having the ability to make actual people from their photos is also a time saver when making human characters. https://applebitemedia.com/3d_characters.php I have been learning this since the middle of Jan. It is a hell of a lot of fun... at least for me. When starting a new game, the character creation is my favorite part so making characters is a game to me, not work. The animation on the other hand, is fun, but a fuck of a lot of work.... Especially without the mocap gear and doing it by hand. So close.... only another 4k is needed. Woo Hoo!!! |
