My current stock holdings. What's yours?
IMHO this past year was a once every 10 years opportunity. There was more to gain then to risk losing, as long as I bought at a 50-80% discount. I invested in nearly 60 companies, and with multiple companies, each within several broad industries. As they reached pre-COVID market prices, or close enough to it, I cashed out. Now I am at 45 plus, and considering to close out at least 1/3 rd to 1/2 of them as soon as it makes sense to, so I can actually start paying more attention to what is happening with the companies I have shares in.
Here is my current list and average price (USD) I purchased at: PLUG - 37 NCHL - 17 ARCO - 5 ARLP - 4 QD - 1.5 WMG - 31 UAL - 38 SAVE - 23 AZUL - 11 AGE - 1 PCG - 9 GE - 6.5 SPG - 83 HP - 15 AZN - 51.50 PFE - 34 MRNA - 115 C - 57 BP - 21 ONTX - .50 COP - 44 TALO - 9 FSR - 16 COG - 16 EPD - 22 EQT - 14 KMI - 15 AMX - 15 GM - 55 RCKT - 57 VSAT - 33 LUMN - 10.5 NOK - 4 BABA - 256 CCIV - 35 NVOS - 4 WKHS - 15 LI - 24 OGEN - 10 ONVO - 13.5 NTLA - 56 HYLN - 13 NKLA - 16 TDOC - 183 TENB - 39.5 VRNS - 50 BB - 12 LAZR - 25 GOEV - 9 Open to constructive comments and feedback, on these stocks, and to learn what companies you have invested in, and briefly why. Maybe some of you will share with the group, what's in your portfolio. :2 cents: :thumbsup |
I'm busy looking all of these up. Not.

Your portfolio leads me to believe you suffer from FOMO. Lots of good stocks though. If you hold them for 10 years you'll be happy you did.
|
In the morning I will take a look at your list and give some thoughts and tips and or ideas that I have.
|
Impressive! The only stock I am holding is a stock photo I purchased for promo purposes.
|
Get out of NKLA while you can. The company is a scam.
|
I hold Occidental, Marathon Oil, Boeing.

all in all not a bad portfolio. You might be a bit over diversified though

Some clarification on my FOMO comment.
Take plug for instance... 37... This leads me to believe that you either bought it on the way up or you bought one of the dips after the surge in January for almost all meme stocks and alternate fuel stocks. So it seems that you were chasing a bit. However.. look at the ticker for one year. Notice the slower trend line and if you drew it out you'd be around 32 right now if the surge never happened. Also realize that there was a smaller surge in December.. So it might take about 3 to 4 months to get back to 37. But if and when it does, this time it will be there because it's supposed to be there and not because of volatility or wall street bets. You have a ton of stocks in this situation in your portfolio. To be honest, your portfolio reads more like my day trading menu than a long term hold portfolio. You might pick 8 to 10 really solid stocks and sell, convert all others into them. You'll take a nice loss on many of them, but that will help to offset any gains tax wise. |
36 Bitcoins. I prefer is simple.

That's why there was 60+ stocks (early weeks of March and April 2020), now 45+ ( November December 2020 January February 2021) and now I am looking to see what plays out in the upcoming few months, to close out another 15 or so stocks, and focus on 20-30 at the most. Currently I keep a XLS, and maintain the published details (buy, sell, hold, Under, Fair, Overvalued, P/E, Highs and Lows for the previous 12 and 24 months, including the post 2008/2009 market crash highs and lows for 12 and 24 months). To spread out the risk, without doing a intense study on each company, I do my best to keep an equal amount of money invested in under value, fair and over valued companies. Bought PLUG on the big dip. Quote:

XOM - Exxon
SAIC - Science Applications International Corporation SFTBY - SoftBank EXC - Exelon Corporation |
A few jumped out as being hyped by that WallStreetBets Reddit crowd for being heavily shorted.
|
My favorite is Apple - bought them at $15 (based on the current price - I bought them 2 or 3 splits ago)

I do this with a lot of wall street bets stocks. I do not have diamond hands, but I do have diamonds worth of money in my account. |

I only invest in the S & P and a couple other indexes.
Long term it's a better bet than buying/trading individual stocks IMHO. |

Best strategy ever. For most S&P500 (VOO, VFIAX, TAKE YOUR PICK) or Total Market. |
The problem with the S&P and DOW is that for the most part they are so high in cost most can not afford it. Yes on some sites you can buy a fractional share and that's nice. Eventually you will get a dividend worth it. But it make take forever. So buy fractional shares but also look for other options.
There are plenty of other options to buy into that will also grow with dividends and a lot faster for less investment. You just need to check and watch your investments and change when needed. |
Good stuff!

I bought Intel below $50, I think the risk is low with growing demand of chips.

I think the simplest strategy is to just buy, say a little once a month during your life.
