Aint Storage gotten fuckin cheap?

Just picked up a 2TB WD Elements USB 3.0 External SSD for 39.99. That means it's like a tenner per 500GB... A Fiver for 250GB...

Only gonna use it to backup my youtube channel videos and stick it in a drawer, but for that price??? Fuck me - I remember the days when a 40GB Solid State slow 5400 RPM drive would cost around £500.00 !!!

Cunt complain... Just amazed at how cheap its become :thumbsup

Where did you get it at that price from?

ordering some 16TB bad boys, only about 350 Euro per drive... who needs to pay monthly for backups on datacenters that burn down.. host all the internet at home

I'm still using floppies, when did they come out with hard drives?

Personally I don't like external drives. I have had a few in the past that either simply stop working or the drive isn't recognised by the PC. Sometimes the cable causes issues othertimes, I don't know.
The last one that did this was a WD drive.

Thats a shame. I have always been a fan of the WD SSD drives. When I first got my iMac (12+ Years ago) I got a WD 'Passport' to use as my 'Time Machine' - Time Machine is a mac thing, which means it's always connected and always backing up in the background whenever you make any changes... So operating 24/7...

A few years in, I needed a 1TB drive cause I had more stuff on my mac so I got a WD Elements 1TB. That has also worked flawlessly in the background.

I never turn off the iMac at all, so when I walk past it at night, I can see the little light flickering away... I still use the original 500GB to transfer large files between my iMac and PC (Its formatted to fat32 so readable by both) and its still fine.

So when I saw the amazon advert pop up, saying 2TB for just £39.99 I jumped at it. Its now gone to £54.00, but I guess I got some deal or other...

But don't be put off the WD elements brand. I think its pretty good really. OK, no backup drive is guaranteed 'PERFECT' But I wouldn't hesitate to purchase that make again, if I needed another :)

LOL, I remember putting together my first computer and getting a 60 or 80 meg hard drive which was the biggest on the market at the time...

The DOS based windows... ah... the good ol days...
