The man who made my 1st Computers, the ZX80, and ZX81... RIP Clive... :(

Creator of the world's first pocket calculator, producer of electric cars when Elon Musk was still in school and single-handedly responsible for the UK's (if not European) computer game industry, leading to GTA and beyond. A very great man indeed.

The nerd in me has to point out that the ZX80 was named after the Z80 chip and not the year 1980, as the Guardian obituary says.

It's all true though. The impact his home computers had on British and European kids and the games industry, which simply didn't exist before, can't be understated. And although the electric car was ridiculed and a commercial failure, one of its biggest issues was being too ahead of its time.

William Morrison was also Scottish.

The ZX Spectrum sucked. Still wish i got a commodore 64.
