You'll get better results buying traffic from a Nigerian email scammer. The only thing that
might make some money is crypto but for porn Reddit has got to be the absolute worst
traffic there is of all the social media platforms available.

Reddit is only marginally better than MeWe and that's not saying much

• Power tripping super mods that are stoned

• Children... mountains of children

• Trolls taking offense to everything constantly trying to cancel everyone for shits and giggles.

• 3rd world net geeks without money looking for girlfriends

• Spam bots, upvote bots and astroturfers by the ton.

• Freeloaders... millions of freeloaders

Reddit is great if you're selling crypto, sharing your gender transition story or campaigning for some socialist
politician but it's a waste of time for anyone trying to make money from porn.

Interresting point, I heard the exact opposite, as reddit being a goldmine for adult traffic. I guess it depends on what people promote, if its a paysite, dating, webcams, etc...it must be worth something, since the whole world is on it. Just need to figure out what works and what doesn't, I guess.

Well, as for branding purposes, I can't see whats wrong with exposing a brand to millions of people for very little money.

In the long term, having **millions** of people peruse your product and never spend a dime
cheapens its value and destroys a good reputation.

Well, depends what you sale and even within that category the quality matters. Look at pornhub...why would anyone still buy porn now? But they do. And thats porn...probably the hardest thing to convert right now. And then there are products you can show everyone, but they can never use them to the fullest when not spending a dime. Doesn't Reddit have like 50 million visits every day? Thats a lot of possibilities.

So with the right product and marketing, its basically like showing everyone luxury cars, but not letting them use them, if they don't pay.

Onlyfans girls probably do ok on reddit but self promotion as a model is much easier on social media than trying to sell someone a paysite.

Yeah, people are definitely looking for something personal...they rather send money to a "model", so they can be connected with her in some way, than to a random website just full with random videos, with no stories or soul.

OF girls are shooting with traditional pay sites for the reach. The same reason porn stars strip / escort - brand recognition (and higher rates for these two because of it).

Some of the OF girls aren't "shooting" content for the pay sites directly - they're just selling them scenes.

Sure, maybe some "average" girls don't make $1k / mo on OF. But I know of some local country girls with a pretty low key OF doing $10k / mo and they don't have any clue what they're doing compared to girls like Amouranth, Belle Delphine, etc., who rake in millions per month.

"Pushing" a pay site on Reddit should be more about brand recognition / type ins rather than direct, trackable sales (ie., submitting tour links or so).

Done this way, it can be very effective. But I only know of a couple who do it fairly well.

Let's be honest here - you're not some super well known and well regarded director / producer (or even talent), so even the "level" of talent who's going to talk shop with you openly is pretty slim. There's a guy who's based out of my area (ish) who's been "in front of and behind the camera" since the mid 90's technically, but he doesn't know shit - he sells "homemade" DVDs to local adult stores featuring strippers from the area and that's all he's ever done.

"Big bucks dream" is only hype to anyone who isn't willing to work for it, regardless of the subject matter. Being an affiliate + working for yourself selling porn sounds like hype to someone who's been at it for a few years and still only make $500-$1k / mo, but then there's a whole lot of us who make that before lunch, too.. however we worked for it. :winkwink:

I have no idea who is on OF and doesn't make enough to buy groceries. I don't pay attention to bottom feeders - it doesn't add to my revenue in any way. But I am privy to the revenue of a couple very small OF competitors as a whole who has mostly nobody models on there, and they could probably buy a couple small grocery stores. :thumbsup

There's a 7 figure market that exists just to do shout outs on OF / IG / Twitter for models. The public facing ones like Sophie Dee's platform, then what occurs strictly in DM's / e-mail.

I have personal friends outside of the industry whose significant others have sold used panties on Reddit in between jobs for pretty serious coin.

Then there's the fact that if you want any of the 3-400 or so top OF models to move to your platform, you're going to pay anywhere from $100k - $2-3 million upfront (depending on their reach), then a pretty decent cut.. just to guarantee x amount of posts from them.
