Airplane ticket price mass increase after february ?

I was checking some lines on aggregator kiwi dot com and noticed how after February average price is like almost 100% up. Is this delayed response to gas cost increase ?

I used Expedia and now from Toronto to Vegas it's about 100$ to 200$ but in January the prices jump to 300 to 600$ on average - so the increase starts earlier than February for some.

Blame expensive flights on rising fuel costs, labor shortages, and high demand. A big reason travel costs are so high right now is that demand is strong at a time when the airline and hospitality industries are lacking in staff. Throw in rising fuel costs and general inflation, and it's no wonder so many people are racking up giant credit card tabs in the course of taking a trip

Its crazy how the flight prices developed. I payed always around 1500 € return to go Bizclass from Romania to Asia no matter the destination. Now I pay for economy 1800 €. Biz would have been a whopping 4500 €!

Western countries will put oil embargo on Russian oil next month. Fuel prices most likely double. It’s going to brutal winter for everybody.

oh wow, I'm gonna have to start booking shows next week!

Actually, it seems this was an some error in ryanair price generator, it seems if you select date which is later then 2-2.5 months, then you get really high prices for some reason. Now i see normal prices for march compared to before. So i wont go in February as then it's still cold temperatures.

yea its brutal here in Thailand already. got down to 14C this morning. brrr!

no heating oil needed. we have a couple space heaters but no one turned them on yet.

we fill the cars with petrol about once a month or less. its been about 3 months on our grocery getter.

i'm sorry more people didn't escape the West (and North) while there was still time :1orglaugh

It's not only patrol and energy, but also airports increase the prices.

Seasonality as well.
I used to 200-400€ prices to Vegas from here in Europe, but now I needed to swallow a hefty 1.5k€, normal Eco for January. If it was a week later, it would have been 300-500€. CES is the main factor + Christmas/New Year.

It might actually go in the other direction due to increased passenger load and higher competition

What about elite people having their own aircraft? We too pay for them.

December is the only month the whole world has holidays at the same time. I always take care i have a place to stay cause hotels triple also.

But also depend, flying to Mexico City from Europe is 3 times more expensive than go to Cancun and than Mexico City. I always use skyscanner and select first "whole month" to see what day is cheapest. If there is a nice stop in between flights i might stay some weeks. But i am a flexible slow traveller.
