Do you follow 500 words rule?

When you writing article, regardless is it porn story or something in mainstream.

BobJones123 09-14-2023 10:34 AM

We aim for 600 to 750

adtrafic 09-14-2023 10:47 AM

Google debunked this theory a few months ago. It is published on one of their Twitter profiles, I don't know if it is on the Google search liaison or Google Search Central account.

They said that there was no minimum number of words for the articles, that they should be made with as many as necessary, If are few words because that is what the user requires, this is ok too.

Yes but with more words you target more keywords so it is good to do it anyway. And also i'v seen this to be effective on non-eng websites.

LetterTwenty7 09-14-2023 11:38 AM

To my knowledge, this and similar rules are not really legit rules. It all depends on whether you are trying to answer a simple question or writing a piece that deserves at least 2000 words. - How to sum numbers in Excel - it is highly unlikely you will need an article of more than 100 words for this topic. Everything else would be filler text. :2 cents:

The Porn Nerd 09-14-2023 12:14 PM

What does ChatGPT say on the subject? :)

bmwracer41 09-14-2023 12:29 PM

Thats the Magic Question

I did a shit ton Blogs at 500 words

I then read an article that the magic number was 1100 and where I was posting a blog evry 4-5 days for a site working on , I heard you needed at least 5 a week

Who the F--K knows now, I have settled down at 600 words , I have done over 2000 blogs past year, another 500 per article would hurt

I know what I did helped as a Keyword I was going after , I got to page 1 #7 , now I totally lost, no penalties, nothing we could figure out but wanted to cry, that was a traffic hit :(

Its been a few months since this and people I spoke with cant figure out either

good luck, this is a good thread

500 is minimum

blackchariotnetwork 09-14-2023 05:03 PM

I get ranked like crazy, with only 300 lol

Colmike9 09-14-2023 05:37 PM

What if you try too hard to insert as many KWs as you can, but then G penalizes it because of like, KW stuffing? :upsidedow

I try to target a solid 420 words tho

I try for 800 - 1200 on most. But up to 3500 on others, easily done with AI now. 6 to 8 per hour for the small ones with good tunes and some sativa

When you use ChatGPT, it's worth to touch the generated articles with https://www.deepl.com/write :2 cents:

I agree with this. =)

J. Falcon 09-14-2023 08:00 PM

Use as many words as necessary. For longer articles, I like to divide the content into headers of about 250 - 300 words of only useful information and as little fluff as possible. Bullet points with precise information are great, too.

I'm writing sex game reviews now that are 2,500 words long and every sentence (and section) has a specific purpose.

emmasexytime 09-14-2023 08:01 PM

just look at what is already being rewarded at copy that :2 cents:

6 to 8 blog posts per hour (via AI) or 6 to 800 words per hour, per one blog post?

redwhiteandblue 09-15-2023 04:10 AM

Just take it naturally and don't worry about the length. That's what I say to most of the women I meet anyway.

Srsly, if you make all your posts the same length Google probably sees this as being more worried about SEO than about providing quality content.

After I get my templates setup for whatever particular subject I'm doing, I can do 6 to 8 articles per hour for the short articles. I can generate them all at the same time. I wrote my own interface for chatgpt API.

It takes a few tries to get it producing content like I want but then the rest is easy. I instruct chatgpt to greenlight for yoast SEO and readability and then I just need to do a little editing, add a featured image, other images and video if needed. I have my API post the articles to my blogs and I edit them in the wordpress block editor.

Once I get in my groove and am uninterrupted, it takes about 8 to 10 minutes per article.

You're breaking your own sig rules with that font size, Klen . . .

I guess that puts to rest the idea that Google won't rank AI.

I believe that Google has no rules. If traffic interacts with the page then Google will rank it. No matter if it's scrapped, artificially generated or stolen, as long as certain ranking factors are present you will bank.

Happen exactly the same. Traffic is now 50% less, SERP is dropping fast. All without a single change in website structure or anything. I've been looking at every angle I can think of. Basically traffic was goin up daily until it decided to take a turn.

Google said months ago that they don't care if the content is AI as long as it follows all the rules of being factual, informative, useful, all the other bullshit they judge our content on.

Mr Pheer 09-16-2023 02:26 PM

Stop worrying about AI content. Just follow the normal rules of being factual, useful and that other regular stuff.

AI detectors are a scam built to milk paranoid and sceptical people's money.

These detectors say the bible verses are 98% AI written.

some readers wont bother with huge articles and close the browser.

wankawonk 09-16-2023 09:11 PM

more words means more shit for people to read means more time on site means better SEO

it's literally no more complicated than that. google doesn't care how long your articles are or what keywords you stuff into them. all they care is how much time do users spend on your site.

ever wonder why every cooking recipe that ranks in SERPs begins with hundreds of words of useless copy? yeah. its to keep you on the page longer.

Have you actually tested time on site?

It depends what the searcher is looking for :2 cents: If they get their answer and bounce that is a good thing :thumbsup

Kelli58 09-16-2023 11:24 PM

I try but I always break it up with images every 200 or 300 words.

what matters is whether the user goes back to google SERP and clicks another result -- or if they don't go back at all.

if they hit your site and then quickly go back to SERP and click another result, that's bad for you.

if they hit your site and spend 10 minutes on your site and then go back to SERP and click another result, that's good for you.

if they hit your site and never go back to SERP, that's great for you.

so in the example you gave -- yes, if they hit your site, get their info, and bounce -- and *don't go back to google SERP" -- that's great for you.

and yes, I've been running tube sites for almost a decade and I can tell you with full confidence -- it's really good for SEO if visitors spend longer on your site.
