Unless the dog has a bad case of fleas or skin problem there is no need to take it's coat completely off - needs that to regulate it's temperature.

OMG!!! I'd be pissed, really pissed!

I love dogs. I have a German Shepard. He follows me from room to room all day.

Tjeezers 12-20-2023 01:07 PM

I have a little humpy dumpy, but today I was informed he needs to be put to sleep, cancer and liver are shutting down.

I am heart broken.

I would trade in anything to give him a second life...

I sincerely appreciate your words. I was venting my pain here to get breathing space, it was a dark day. I would do anything to give my buddy a second life. I would trade all and everything I have to get him on his feet again. Nothing is of any value to me besides his companionship.

Last summer I went on an Exclusive Doggy holiday with him, a dog-friendly place rented, and smoked a bud under the full moon while we both enjoyed the sound of the sea. We tipped the waiter when he was allowed to roam around in the restaurant and beg for cuddles from strangers. The memories tear me up right now. But ... it's a sadness that comes with waves of love and cheerful memories.

He's a Bichon Frise, one of those ever-lasting, lovable creatures with a personality that lingers in the heart.

I completely understand your pain and how hard it can be. He sounds like he was an awesome dog and a really good boy :) You loved him hard and gave him a good life.

I just had to put down my cat 6 months ago. No day has been the same without him. He was a highland lynx/bobcat I got from an exotic breeder. He acted more like a dog than a cat. One thing I'm really glad that my husband did was start an Instagram page years ago. I'm able to look back at all of the memories myself and my family had with him over the years. It's made it a little easier being able to laugh and smile at all the adventures he had with us.

I am really sad to read that about your cat. Every word you said was so incredibly close to my heart, I can just feel the pain. Life is pretty meaningless when it is all about work and keeping people happy, we are just dust in the wind, and our pets have a different view on life, and they worry more for us than we realize. Mimi (my cat) was crawling under the blanket with me this morning, she did this never, even when I dragged her close to me she was always a little cold. But she felt I was down. So she moved her principals aside.

I am happy I have 4 gigs of pictures of Pity, my dog, it is painful to watch now, but I am sure that will be later a more comforting thing.

It's sweet of your husband that he made this IG page. Sending him a big hug!

Thank you for sharing with me here, I hope you have a blessed December month with lots of moments of joy and memories.

Like I stated on another thread I find the pictures of past pets far more saddening than the ones of dead humans beings. The animal innocence is deeply moving . . . I'm sorry for your loss.

Quoted for truth. We can learn a lot from our pets.

Keep it simple

Repeat
