Anyone using YOTI?

Just wondering - is anyone here using Yoti? What do you think? Are you using Age Estimation, or Age Verification? What are the ups and downs of Yoti?

In terms of software development, Yoti stands pretty much standard with the rest of the age verifiers that I've worked with. Yoti did have a variety of options, and they appear to partner with an mDL/OpenID4VP provider to make use of various wallets. I am not sure if those are acceptable for age verification purposes though.

They use a pretty plain API, which creates a session, redirects the user, and then your app captures the data on the postback/webhook.

The app appears to be the real selling point. Not a lot of age verifiers, and virtually no KYC operators, provide a method to avoid repeat verifications. In some states it's unavoidable, I think.

Their support for developers leaves a little bit to be desired. They seemed wholly uninterested in letting me learn their system, which was disappointing. They do not have a sandbox account for simple age verification. By contrast, other providers not only provide SDKs, but they also provide sandbox accounts. I can't sell a product to my clients that I don't know completely.

If a client wants me to integrate their system, and can get a contract signed with them, then I think it would be pretty simple to integrate.

EDIT: From a technological perspective, I think Age Estimation leaves A LOT to be desired, no matter who you go with. I am not a lawyer, but I just don't see how using AI models to guess the age based on a video feed is at all risk averse.

I use YOTI on some sites, just to be compliant with users from specific locations. Was pretty easy to implement, but I've heard BlueCheck is nicer for NATS because there is support for it.
